(Lang lois Photo) New bible club meets The Nondenominational Bible Friendship Coffee had the first meeting Wednesday, February 8th at the home of Arunek Pardys who welcomed us with a cup of coffee or tea. Twelve ladies were present. Mrs. Stuart. McNair was leader, and read a poem in opening. The hymn "Saviour teach me day by day" was sung. All joined in reading II Corinthians 13, followed by a meditation by Mrs. McNair, and ,--prayer. All repeated the Lord's Prayer. The topic took the form of a Bible study, led by Mrs. Stuart Stevenson. Exodus 14 was read in unison and a discussion was held on the rights of men and women, also Indians. 'Other portions, of scripture read were from Luke 1 and Matt. 25 and Luke 16. These readings led to considerable discussion by the group. The buSiness included minutes read by the assistant secretary, Mrs. Jack Knight. A letter regarding the Dock project was also read. Mrs. Clare Veitch gave the treasurer's report, and cards and visits were recorded by Mrs. Stan Fischer. Used cards and stamps are to be brought to the next meeting. The roll call was a verse containing "love",. The World Day of Prayer service will be held on Friday, March 3 at the home of Mrs. Earl Dunn. There will be ,a quilting in the near future. Mrs. McNair read a poem and the hymn "Jesus the very thought of Thee" was sung. The Mizpah Benedition was repeated in unison. Lunch was served by the hostess and Mrs. Calvin Cameron and Mrs. Earl Dunn. Personals Miss Sharon Engel visited on the weekend with. Msis. Lorraine Dinsmore, Fordwich. Congratulations .to Joanne' Knight, Wendy Martin and-- Jeanie McDonald, pupils of Mrs. Stewart Steiss. Joanne and Wendy passed Grade 5 piano and. The topic for discussion was "Pointers for Emotional Health". A general information to the club was' also given.
