Huron
At the last Huron County
Library Board meeting December
7, the Library Board approved the
1978 budget of $383,550. The
Library Board is asking Huron
County Council for a grant of
,$262,822. or $4.69 per capita for
support of the library to meet the
budget., The Library Board
operates through 28 outlets with a
staff of 35-40 people, many of
them being y'art-time.
As well as increases in salaries,
the Library Board is concerned
about the increase of the price of
books. In 1978, $100,000. has
library budget approved
sung by Mrs. Van Vliet.
The Stompers, namely Wilma
Hemingway, Alberta Smith, Mrs.
C. McCut cheon, Leona Conley,
Leona' Armstrong and Peggy
Cudmore 'were enjoyed by
everyone.

Brussels senior citizens held
their December meeting on
Thursday. A turkey dinner was
enjoyed by all present.
In charge of the meeting was
Ed Martin, president, along with
Mrs. Bolger, secretary.
A card was signed by all
members for Hazel Matheson
who had the misfortune to break
her arm.
Peggy Cudmore favoured with
a reading, "A maiden lady does
her Christmas shopping".
Mr. St'retton introduced Mr.
Stewart, new druggist, who spoke
on the arrangement now fdr
receiving prescriptions.. This was
followed by carol singing with
Lulu Kerr at the piano. A solo was

vegetable. Once cooked, parsnips
may be topped with grated cheese
and buttered crumbs; or a cream

butter flavored with lemon,
parsly, onion or chives, dill,
tarragon, ginger, or cinnamon.

"Seats have been removed
from the Park Theatre to make
room for wheel-chairs", said
owner B. Lyndon, in a letter to
ALPHA recently.
Mr. Lyndon noted (that to date
these facilities had not been used.
ALPHA'regrets this and hopesIthat
the handicapped' will avail them-
selves of this previously
inaccessible area of entertain-
ment.
ALPHA fool letters to acquaint
local service clubs with ALPHA's
goals and solicit their help to
achieve them will be mailed soon.
ALPHA will not meet in
December. Next meeting will be
held January 24 at 8 p.m. at the
home of Bruce Scott in Seaforth.
