Rosalie Jeanette Hackett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Hackett of .R.R.7, Lucknow, and Thomas Walter Rapson, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rapson of R.R.4, Walton, were married
October 1 at Trinity United Church, Ashfield. Rev. Albert J. Cook
officiated. Maid of honour was Elva Ritchie of Wingham.
Bridesmaids were Wilma Blake of Lucknow, Darlene Wattam of
Wingham and Donna -Hackett of London. Groomsman was
Kenneth Lee of Huron Park. Usher's were James Rapson of
Stratford, Michael Rapson of Stratford and Albert Rapson of
Clinton. Organist was Mrs. Kenneth Alton and soloist was
Graeme Craig of Walton. Following the ceremony a reception
was held at the Brookside School. The couple, left for a trip to the
East Coast. They will be' residing in Seaforth.

MRS. MARY CLARK
Mrs. Mary Clark, widow of the
late James Clark, of the 14th
concession of Grey Township,
passed away in Wingham and
District Hospital on Thursday,
October 6th, after an illness of
several weeks, in her 86th year.
Her husband predeceased her in
1960.
The former Mary MacDonald,
was the daughter of Donald
MacDonald and Sarah McAdam.
She is survived by one sister,
Annie MaciDonald, of R.R.2,
Bluevale; two - brothers, Alex
MacDonald, Brussels and John
MacDonald of R.R.3, Brussels.
She was predeceased by one
brother, Stanley MacDonald, and
two sisters Mrs. Wm. (Margaret )
McLeod and Mrs. Harry (Jean)
McLeod of B.C.
Funeral service was held on
Monday, October 10th at 2:00
p.m. from the M.L.Watts Funeral
Home , Brussels. Dr. Ross
Thompson of Cranbrook
Presbyterian Church officiated.
Burial was in Brussels
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were two
grandsons, Ross and Murray
Craig and Donald Perrie, Richard
Carter, Win. Gordon and Graeme
MacDonald.
Flowers were carried by Roger
'raig and Jahn Johnston.
MRS. JOHN MCMILLAN
Mrs. John McMillan a long
time resident of McKillop died in
Belleville on October 4th in her
85th year. She had been in poor
health for a number of years.
Born in McKillop, she was a
daughter of the late John
McDowell and Isobel McDiornid.
On graduation from the local
school she attended business
college in Stratford.
She was married in 1918 to
John McMillan and the couple
farmed in Hullett Township until
Mr. McMillan's death three years
later in 1921 when she returned to
live at her family home in
McKillop.
A life member of the WMS of
First Presbyterian Church in
Seaforth for many years she was
active in the work of the church.
Mrs. McMillan is survived by a
son, Walter H. McMillan of
Belleville, by three grandchildren
and by a brother Wm. McDowell
of Seaforth. She was predeceased
by a sister Isobel, Mrs. E.
Fischer.
Funeral service was conducted
at the Whitney Ribey Funeral
Home in Seaforth on Oct 6 by
Rev. E.G. Nelson of First Church.
Interment followed in
Maitlandbank Cemetery. The
pallbearers were James M.
Scott, James F. Scott, Gordon
Scott, Cornelius DeCorte, Arthur
Powell and John Bell.
Flowerbearers were three
nephews, Nick, Thomas and
William Whyte.
Ethel W,I. held family night
in the Community Ha ll,
Wednesday evening Oct. 12, with
guests from Walton, Brussels and
Molesworth.
" The special guest was. Michelle
McCutcheon of Brussels who told
of her trip to Denmark and
displayed her souveniers. Ethel
Women's Institute made a quilt in
the spring, sold tickets on it and
the draw was made on
Wednesday evening. Garry Boyer
of Ethel was the winner of the
quilt.
Raynard and McFarlane family
reunion was' held at the Ethel
Community Hall on. Sat. evening,
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Bremner
-and Doris visited on Sunday with
Edythe Beacom and Mrs. Laura
Lyon, and attended Londesboro
United Church.
Mrs. Floyd Hutton and Shirley
of Listowel visited on Monday
with Mr. and Mrs. Andy Bremner
and Doris.
Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Bremner
attended the Doig reunion on
Sunday at Listowel.
Brenda Bremner, Althouse
College of Education, London, is
practice teaching at Seaforth
District High School.

St. John's Anglican Church, Brussels was the scene of a pretty
double ring ceremony on August 27th, 1977 at 4 o'clock when
Lori Jacquelyn McCutcheon became the bride of Gerald Stanley
Wheeler, youngest son of Lloyd and Helen Wheeler of RR#1,
Ethel.
Rev. J. Keith Stokes of Leamington officated at the ceremony
and Miss Colleen. Carson, Gorrie provided the wedding music.
The bride was given in marriage by her father and was
attended by her maid of honour Miss Fran Blake, RR#2, Brussels
and bridesmaids, Michelle and Jill McCutcheon, sisters of the
bride, and Miss Cathy Eaton of London. •
Ross McCall, was best man and ushers were John. Exel, Keith
Brighton and Bruce Raymond all friends of the groom.
The wedding dinner was served in St. John's Church hall
followed by a reception and dance at -the Elma 'Community
Centre, Atwood.
Follwing a wedding trip to northern Ontario the couple will
reside in Rrnec,.li.
