BRUSSELS STOCKYARDS TEACHERS PETS? — School days was the theme of this float, made and manned by members of the Brussels Leo Club. If the three students in the middle are any indication, discipline seemed to be a problem in this imaginary classroom. Was the teachers back turned? (Photo by Langlois) Rebekahs visit • nursing home Morningstar Rebekah Lodge held their regular meeting Sept.. 27th. Sis. D. Ritchie, N.G. presiding with a good attendance. A splendid time was enjoy ed on the visit- to the nursing home on Sept. 22nd. 'when the lodge celebrated the birthdays of Sis. Jean Little and Jolmar. They received gifts and a birthday lunch was served, An enjoyable 5 program of singing, skits and Little Miss Lori. Patterson danced several times which was enjoyed by all the residents. The installation of officers for the term of 1977-1978 will be held next Lodge night Oct. 10th when The Brussels Horticultural. Society met in the P ublic Library Monday, Sept: 19th at 8 p.m. Mrs. Doug Hemingway , who presided read a poem "September". Members reviewed the prize list omitting classes and adding some new ones. Brian Armstrong contributed two piano solos. Mrs. J, Mair thanked him and gave a small token. Mr. A. Knight read the news letter. Mrs. Jas. Mair introduced the guest speaker, Mrs., Zyta, florist from Listowel, who gave out nine corsages, different styles. Then made two, one called a Glamelia Made from Glad florlets. She also made them of roses, Mums and carnations. She then discussed the ones given out, one to be worn in the• hair, one a wristlet, one a waist style, one a ring one worn on the neck, one a shoulder corsage, and one a ribbon corsage. Winners of corsages were E. Mair; F. Mathan, E. Hemingway, V. Tunney, A. Knight, W. Hemingway, L. Armstrong, M. Perrie. Mrs. Zyta was thanked by Mts. Mair and presented with a gift. Mrs. Zyta invited all to come and see their store in Listowel. There were 22 members and 12 guests. The Queen closed the meeting and lunch was served by Mrs. J. Armstrong, Mrs. G. Gibson, Mrs. D. Hemingway, Mrs. W. Ketr. Rebekah service. Birthdays were celebrated Sept. 27 by Sis. Lynda Patterson and Sis. Sha ron Freeman. Sa turday October 29th will be the Variety. Fair in ,the Lodge room. Used clothing and household articles are welcome.
