Huronview
The band concert planned for Family Night with the
Brussels Pipers was postponed owing to the weather and the
residents provided their own musical program. Mrs. Elsie
Henderson played the piano accompaniment and arranged
the program which consisted of selections by The Huronview
Orchestra, vocal solos and duets. Residents taking part were
Mrs. Luella Cox, Josie Cunningham, Myrtle Parker, Ethel
Hill, Nelson Lear, Norman Speir, Cecil Skinner, Morgan
Dalton and Jerry Collins.
The Hurondale Women's Institute from the Exeter area
were hosts for the August birthday party. The president of the
Institute, Mrs. HarryDlougal was emcee for a variety program
with tap dance and vocal numbers by Lori and Lisa Strong;
readings by Louise Oke and a sing-a-long led by Fern
McDougall accompanied by Myrtle Brock. The twenty-one
celebrants were pre sented with gifts by t he Institute and
Mrs. Jennie McGratton who is celebrating her 98th birthday
this month, thanked the ladies on behalf of the residents.

Mitchell held a family gathering
on Sunday afternOon, August 21
at their farm on the 9th
concession of Morris, when
approximately 130 of the
immediate families helped
celebrate the 89th birthday of
Mrs. Elizabeth Storey.
Prior to the supper meal,
several of those present
entertained with a program of
music and step dancing by the
relatives present. A birthday cake
was made by Mrs. Orville Storey
for the happy occasion. It also
was Emerson Mitchell's
birthday.
Pictures were taken including a
five generation picture with Mrs.
Stiorey being the great great
grandmother.
The 'high schools of Huron
County are not going to offer
students health foods as an option
to regular cafeteria meals.
Richard Wright, purchasing
agent for the county's board of
education, was asked if Huron
would be following the lead of its.
Perth County counterpart.
Perth's board of education is
installing refrigerated cases
containing salads, fresh raw
vegetables, fruit juices and
natural desserts In its secondary
schools.

of uncooked foods and juices
would be placed in two Stratford

had one. Whether the cases will
be rented or bought remains to be
seen.
