husband John were in Brussels for a visit Sunday and meta number of old friends.
Here Mrs. Ain ley shows a scrapbook she compiled during Brussels Centennial in
1972 along with some unidentified children, Karen .Bridge, Harold Bridge and
Ruth Lowe. •

Dick Roorda led the Christian Reformed Song Service on
Sunday evening with vocal duet numbers by Sharon and Carol
Van Den Berg and instrumentals by • Cathy and Steven
DeBoer. Mrs. Elsie Henderson was pianist for the service
with devotions by• Rev. Van Den Berg.
Mrs. M anion Sholdice was welcomed to the Home at
Monday afternoons program. Old Tyrne music was provided
by Marie Flynn, Lorne Lawson, Norman speir and Cecil
Skinner. The Clinton Christian Reformed volunteers assisted
with activities.
The residents were entertained on "Family Night" with a
puppet show, "No Strings Attached." The theme of the show
was the story of Jack & The Bean Stalk and was directed by
Cheryl Smith assisted by Richard Keelan and Denny Garcia
The Huronview Auxiliary had a very successful spring tea
and bake sale on Wednesday afternoon.
Senior Citizens week will be from June 19th to June 26th
this year and the residents are counting on seeing a number
of their friends and relatives.

Bruce Bennett of R.R.4,
Seaforth won the Canadian
National Exhibition Shield in the
Huron County 4-H livestock and
field crops judging competition
held in Seaforth recently.
Mr. Bennett won the award for
having the highest score in the
novice section out of 61
competitors. The novice section is
open to young people 12 to 17
years of age. Mr. Bennett had a
score of 772 out of a possible 900.
The senior division was won by
John Van Vliet of R. R.2, Brus'sels
with a score of 844. Bruce Godkin
ofR.R.1, Walton won the Junior
competition against 50 other
competitors with a score of 789.
The pre 4-H division with 26
competitors was won by George
Alton of R.R.7, Lucknow with a
score of 738.
Murray Stewart of R.R.1,
Kirkton was awarded the Huron
Cattlemens Association award for
the highest score in the beef
section. He had a score'of 143 out
of a possible 150.
The Huron County Milk
Committee award was won by
Jean Siertsema of R.R.3, _Blyth
for the highest score in the dairy
section. She had a score of 99 out
of a possible 100.
The CIL trophy for the highest
score in the swine section went to
Jim Nivins of R.R.3, Auburn who
had a score of 142 out of 150.
Margaret Pym of R.R.1, Centralia
won the Cyanamid Award for the
highest score in the sheep section
with a score of 97 out of 100.
The Winston Powell award for
the highest score in the horse
section was won by Carolyn
Dinsmore of Fordwich with a
score of 96 out of 100. The
Blatchford Feeds trophy went to ,
John Van Vliet of R.R.2, Brussels
for having the highest Score in the
entire competition.
There were 199 competitors in
all.

JOYCE IRELAND
Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Janes
Ireland of R.R.#5, Brussels, has
received the 1977 Huron County
scholarship of $150.00 for having
the highest academic standing by
a Huron County student in the
Home Economics Courses at
Centralia College of Agricultural
Technology. Presently employed
for the summer months in the
food department of Midwestern
Regional centre near Palmerston.
Joyce will return in the fall to
complete her final year of study in
the Food Service Management
Course.
