The seven members of the
provincial executive of the
Ontario Federation of Agriculture
will arrive in Wingham from
various parts of the p rovince on
Monday, February 28. They will
hold their monthly executive
meeting on Wednesday, March
2nd. For two days prior to this
meeting they will meet with the
county Federation executives
from Huron, Perth, Bruce and
.Grey, and will hold a general
evening meeting for all farmers
from the above-mentioned
counties.
During their stay in Wingham,
the executive members plan to
visit a number of local farms to
discuss current farm business
Police charge
morn and sons
Seven local people, including a
mother and her two sons, have
been charged with break, enter
and theft by the Wingham
detachment of the Ontario
Provincial Police.
The charges stem from a
break-in at a Morris Township
house last September, during
which, according to an OPP
constable, "the house was
practically cleaned out." No value
was placed" on the items stolen.
Charged with break, enter and
theft are Mildred M. Monether,
38, and her sons Reginald James
Monether, 17, and Leslie Roland
Monether, 16, all of R.R.2,
Atwood. Also charged was
Heather L. Gowing, 18, of
Listowel, Nelson W. Rollins, 16,
of Listowel, John Allen Barbour,
17, of Milverton and Lorne G. ,
Prince of R.R.2, Atwood,
The Monether youths, along
with Mr. Rollins and Mr.
Barbour, are presently awaiting
sentencing after pleading guilty
to break, enter, and theft charges
in the Listowel area. The
Monethers also pleaded guilty to
possession of marijuana in
Listowel court on Jan. 26.
The seven people will appear in
Wingham provincial court March
9.

Presidency of the O.F.A., Peter
Hannam stated that he intends to
concentrate on building close r
liaison between the individual
members, the county
organizations and the provincial
organization. He wants to draw
people out and get them to
participate. "I want everyone to
feel free to come and, express
their opinions," he said.
The Executive will hold their
meetings at the Turnberry tavern
on Highway 86, about one mile
east ofWingham, beside the
Turnberry Central School. A
general meeting for all O.F.A.
members will be held on Tuesday
evening, March 1 at 8:00 p.m. in
the Turnberry Central School.
