Mary Stewart Collect, the
secretary-treasurer, Mrs. Bill
Peacock read the minutes of the
last meeting, the treasurer's
report, letters pertaining to 4-H
courses and 4 letter from the
FWIO president, Mrs. Herbert
Maluske.
Mrs. Armstrong gave a
.reading. "The Legend of the
Valentine". Roll call was
answered with thought on
Heritage Day or a current event.
For training school courses, the
members voted on "Dairy foods"
and "Personalize Your Pattern".
Short courses voted for were
"Women's Institute Workshop"
and "Bedroom and Bath
Accessories."
Mrs. Alex MacTavish reported
on the training school for quilting
which was held last month in
Wingham. Plans were also made
to purchase heavier coat racks for
the Community Hall.
The Bluevale WI will visit
Brookhaven Nursing. Home on
April 20 and the Callander
Nursing Home, Brussels, in May.
The annual meeting will be held
at the home of Mrs. Armstrong in
the form of a pot luck dinner.
Each member signed her name
on eight get-well cards for
members of the community,
expressing wishes for their
speedy recover y ,A valentine
cake, donated by Mrs. Soren
Andersen and decorated by her
daughter, was won by Mrs. Carl
Johnston.
Following the singing of the
Inslitute Grace, lunch was served
by Mrs. Charles Mathers, Mrs. J.
V. Fischer and Mrs. Mel Craig.
The March meeting will be
held at the home of Mrs. Ken
Simmons. Ken Saxton of
Wingham will be the guest
speaker and the roll call will be,
"What are you doing to conserve
energy?"
