Ushers were Denise Gross, Kathy Kennedy and Janet Wilts. The scripture readings from Isiah “Joy affiliations through the Princeof Peace’ ’ by Lisa Duizer and from Luke, chapter 2, “Christ Is Born”, by Sheila Schrider were given. Carols were sung. Candles were lit. A solo, “0 Holy Night” was sung by Bill Jewitt and “When a Child is Born” by Lisa Bosman. The message was “A Time for Christ.” At the Sunday morning service, greeters were Rev. Snihur and Bill Jewitt. Ushers were Denise Gross, Paul Jewitt, Melanie Knox and Joanne Wilts. Rev. Snihur wel­ comed all and gave call to worship and announcements. The flowers in the church were in loving memory of Charlie Way­ mouth by his family. He was buried on Wednesday, December 24. The Board of Trustees have requested a congregational meeting to be held immediately following the morn­ ing service, Sunday, Jan. 4. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the possible purchase of land nextto the church. Fellowship meeting will be held Jan. 7 and 14. The children’s time included the song“AwayinaManger’’.The lesson was based on the question “Would one drop of water make a difference?’’ Yes, the minister said, even a small kindness could change a life. The junior teacher was Connie VanLoo. The anthem was sung with Marsha Szusz, organist and choir director. Area native dies Carl, Kay and Mary Longman attended the funeral of their brother-in-law Charles Waymouth of Stratford at W. G. Young Funeral Home December 24 in Stratford. Interment was in Blyth Union Cemetery. Sympathy is extended, they were former resi­ dents of this community. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Wood held Christmas on Boxing Day for their family. Present were Prof. Bill and Lois Andrews>Toronto; Brenda and Shane Climie, San Francisco; Ken and Marilyn Wood, Doug and Karen, Wingham; Joanne and Darrell Anderson, Toronto; Janet and Doug Gudwer, Calgary; Calvin Yau, Hong Kong; and Gregg Andrews. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Carter and daughter Tonya, Simcoe, spent five days with his parents Doreen and Glen Carter, during the Christmas season. Also visiting her parents for two weeks is Colleen Carter, Exeter. In July, Hullett Days brought out the animal in the people of Londesboro. The weekend of fun events showed some of the community spiritthat would be shown later in the community’s tremendous response in “Backing the Biter”. Many visit for Christmas Christmas celebrations were held at the home of Doreen and Glen Carter on December 23. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Larry Carter and Tonya; Colleen Carter; Mr. and Mrs. Kevan Broome, Wade and Adams, Egmondville; Mrs. James Armstrong, Clinton and Mr. John Armstrong, Londes­ boro. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Carter and Colleen visited George Carter at Huronview on Christmas Day, joing him for lunch in the main dining room. John Armstrong spent Christ- masDayatthe home of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Armstrong and family. Dora Shobbrook spent the Christmas period from December 24 to 27 with daughter Muriel and Ross Millson and family in Wood- stock. Anyone still having square quilt blocks should return them to Brenda Radford. Christmas Day visitors with Bob and Vi Burns were daughter Barbara and Colin Paterson, Katie and Jennifer, London. Shuffelboard will resume again after the holidays on January 7 at 8 p.m. in the school. The W.l. card party will be held January 9 in the hall at 8 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Anderson spent Christmas Day with daugh­ ter Helen Anderson in Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Allen, Keith and Nancy Allen, Don, Mark, Drew and Paula from here. Karen and Don Sruton, Colleen and John, Clinton and Catherine Johns of Exeter spent Christmas with Gloria and Wayne Jackson, Brian and Sandra of Ridgetown. John Cartwright is attending Toe Alpha in Toronto this week. Florence Cartwright, John and Claude spent Christmas Day with her mother May Rinn, Belgrave. On December 21, she held Christ­ mas celebrations with Howard and Marjorie Cartwright and family. Mrs. Ken Vodden and daughter Cathy Vella from Toronto spent three days Wednesday to Sunday at Christmas visiting with her son Corporal Robert Vella in Military Hospital in Ottawa. Christmas visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Allen Shaddick were their family Lloy and Dirk Garlichs, Waterloo and Jeff and Karin Shaddick, Danny, Stephen and Krystal, London.
