Knox United celebrates Christmas The minister Gary Shuttleworth conducted Sunday morning ser­ vice at Knox United Church. Organ and piano prelude was played by Mrs. Gordon Gross and Lori Millian. Call to Worship, Life and Work of the Church and prayers were given and several hymns sung. Mrs. Barry Millian and her daughter Lori played a piano duet; the “Hallelujah Chor­ us." The flowers on the Communion table were in memory of the late Catherine Jackson. The minister told the children’s story and the children went to Sunday School rooms with teachers Lori Donna Lynn Armstrong and Dobie. The minister’s sermon entitled “If you want to be first." Offertory prayer and dedication of gifts were given. Offering was received by Roger Cunningham and Teade Bakker. Mr. Shuttle- worth pronounced the Benediction and service closed with the con­ gregational benediction: “Unto Us a Child is Born.’’ was Robert McIntyre, Reg. Also visiting Mrs. Smith was her daughter, Isabel Wheeler. Margaret McBrien was visited by Jim and Jean Keyes. Mr. and Mrs. Simpson played cards with the residents, George and Pat Langlois and grandchildren visited Winnifred McPhail. On Sunday, Dec. 14, Gertie Elmslie visited in Wingham with her son Brian. Donald Graham had his brother visit him. Ray Stewart was in visiting his parents Eva and Oliver Stewart. Peter and Doug Shaw, Lisa Stahlschmidt and Della Shaw visited with Mac Shaw. The Salvation Army held a service for the residents. The Walton and Belgrave Youth Group was in carolling. On Monday, Dec. 15, The Salvation Army held a Christmas service for the residents and passed out sunshine bags. On Dec. 16, Jim Lawrie, Frank Dunn, Audrey Seaton, and Marion Leatherland visited the Huron Centre for the Homebound in Wingham. Students from East Wawanosh Public School in Bel­ grave sang carols for the residents. Elsie Shaw passed away. She will be missed by all. On Dec. 17, Anne Vader played the piano for the residents. The Blyth Singers entertained. Brown­ ies and Guides sang carols and passed around cookies. On Dec. 18, Health Care Aid students had a Christmas tea with the residents. The staff exchanged gifts with the residents at the staff-residents’ Christmas party. Elizabeth McKercher and Millie Nixon visited with Maggie Griffith. Dorothy Higgins went with her sister-in-law to attend the Bel­ grave United Church Christmas Concert. Ray Stewart visited with his parents, Eva and Oliver Stewart.
