The old Queen’s Hotel, a landmark on Brussels’ main street for many
years came down to make way for the new EMA supermarket, but a
piece of the building will go to the new Huron County Museum in
Goderich. This storefront from the poolhall and hamburger stand
operated by Maggie Rutledge was acquired by the museum after it was
brought to the attention by Brussels-born architect John Rutledge.

The last Conversational French I
class was held at the home of Mrs.
Winona Martin.
The usual lesson was taught,
then the members performed
monologues and some dialogues
were presented. All provided
hilarity with special costumes and
a puppet etc.
Sandra Billson gave the Nativity
Storey in French. She also showed
slides of Quebec City. The teacher,
Mrs. Billson of Goderich, brought
special French Tortiere Meat Pies
and the hostess provided other
smorgasbord items. This made a
joyful time of fellowship. Students
enjoyed the French Course and
look forward to more classes in the
future.
