There were 31 present. The Branch directors, Mrs. Marie McCutcheon and Mrs. Kathleen Semple had charge of the meeting. The president, Mrs. Kathy Bridge, presided over the business period. It was decided to send a donation to Mr. and Mrs. Murray Houston due to the recent loss of their home by fire. The birthday party at the Callander Nursing Home will be held on January 22. The next card Brussels council holds special meeting Brussels village council will hold a special meeting Thursday night to deal with minor housekeeping to its Ontario Neighbourhood Im provement Project. The meeting, necessary when a change is required to an ONIP plan, will deal with an amendment that will see the amounts of money designated to certain areas in the original plan shuffled into other areastomakethebestuseof the money available. The Brussels ONIP plan has one year left to run and all money must be either spent or returned after the 1987 year- end. The meeting will be held at Brussels Public Library at 7 p.m. COMMUNITY CALENDAR CARDIFF & MULVEY BrUSSelS REALESTATE & INSURANCE LTD. 887-6100 HOM R party will be held on January 26 at 2 p.m. There is a Family Financial Management Correspondence Course offered, anyone interested is to contact the Agricultural Office in Clinton priorto January 20. Mrs. Doris McCall offered to look after the scrapbook for the next term. The Roll Call, being donations for the shut-in boxes, was well responded to. Mrs. Marie McCut cheon read a very appropriate Christmas reading. Mrs. Margaret McLeod sang two lovely Christmas selections and also led a sing song ofChristmascarols. The draw for the Crib Quilt was made by Miss Aleda Shantz of Ayton and the lucky winner of the quilt was Mrs. Nancy Nay, who is the granddaughter of Mrs. Peggy Cudmore. Mrs. Isabel Adams and Mrs. Bernice MacFarlane looked after the exchange of gifts. Walton, Mac and Beth Baeker, Jim and Bonnie Bradley, Shari Baeker, Guy Waight, all of Burlington held an early Christmas gathering on Dec. 14 at the home of Bob and Barb Coleman, Rob and Ken of Burlington. Margaret Kelly is home from the hospital after getting a new hip! While in the hospital she was informed that the O.B. doctor who had set up a scholarship in her name (Margaret Russell) in 1964, had doubled the amount and now two nurses receive the scholarship in O.B. each year.
