is a busy place this time of year, but
students are brimming with the
Christmas spirit, despite the heavy
workload and exams in full swing.
Holidays start December 20.
ExamsstartedMonday. Most
exams count for 50 per cent of the
course mark, so great pressure is
brought to bear on all students to
work for good grades.
However, no student seems to
have forgotten the Christmas
spirit, as demonstrated by the
Christmas tree standing in the
foyer, beautifully decorated by the
students.
To raise funds, the Students’
Council is selling real mistletoe,
and have developed a “Candy
gram,” which may be purchased
for just 50 cents, and delivered
within the school totheobjectof
one’s affections. Needless to say,
this procedure has proven very
useful to excessively shy swains,
service in January. This was
followed by singing Christmas
Carols.
Business was conducted by
Marion Godkin assisted by Mari
lyn McDonald reading minutes
and thank you cards.

with the purchasing of new dishes.

names unless they want to!
Sports activities are being held
in the gyms each noon hour. In one
gym, a fast shot basketball contest
is being held, with the record
holder being Don Hern with 13
consecutive shots, while a hockey
scoring skill-testing contest is set
up in the other gym. Several
students have succeeded in netting
two shots out of three, but no one
has scored the big three yet.
An Airband Contest will be held
at the dance on December 18,
which celebrates the end of the
school term. An airband is a group
who mimes the actions of a
favourite rock group, while the
actual sound of the real group is
played on tape. A fee of $10 is
required by all groups who wish to
enter the contest.
A reminder to all those who

picked up at CHSS at any time.
