A huge variety of mouthwatering goodies was available at the annual Christmas Bazaar in Brussels, sponsored by the St. Ambrose Catholic Women’s League last Saturday. Craft items and raffle tickets were also on sale to raise money for CWL projects. Callander News Residents entertained Brussels Legion News Auxiliary busy catering BY EUGENE JANES P.R.O. The Ladies’ Auxiliary has been very active the past couple of weeks. On Thursday afternoon, Novem­ ber 27, members went to the Callander Nursing Home to enter­ tain the ladies and gentlemen there. Christmas carols were sung and a birthday gift was presented to Noreen Cox. Elsie Shaw was presented with a 40-year member­ ship pin. Ice cream cones, cookies and tea were served by the Ladies’ Auxiliary, assisted by the nursing home staff. It was an enjoyable afternoon for all. The Ladies’ Auxiliary has been busy catering for banquets the past two weeks. Thank you to the organizations and families who patronize the Ladies’ Auxiliary for their banquets. Meetings this month are on Monday, December 15. The Branch meeting is at 8:30 p.m. The Ladies’ Auxiliary meeting is a pot luck supper and Christmas party. Supper is at 7 p.m. Gifts will be exchanged. Zone Commainder Mary Hawn will be attending. Turkey Bingo began at the Legion Hall on November 28 and will continue every Friday evening at 8 p.m. until December 19. Winners of turkeys on November 28 were: Tina Bosman, Marge Lease, Lorie Jamieson, Roy Bren- ie, Harold Bolger, Edna Prior, Krista Bird, Norma Cooper, Mrs. Riley, Albert Roetcisoender, Mrs. Lease, Roy Brenie, Vera Hastings and Lillian Moses. The three specials of $25 were won by Bobbie Howitt, Leona McDonald and Pat Shaw. The Share the Wealth of $37.75 was won by Eileen Hall. The Door Prize of a turkey was won by Mrs. Ireland. On December 5, winners of turkeys were: Norma Coobie, Evelyn Blake, Mrs. Donna Bauer, George Lavery, Chris Burkholder, Sheri Huether, Karen Parker, Heather Blake, Donna Bauer, Ferg Riley, MargaretBennett, Barry ? Winnifred McPhail was out for a drive with Pa.u and George Lang­ lois. Helen Wheeler visited with Millie McFarlane and Bessie McCutcheon. Della Shaw visited her husband, Mac Shaw. Mary Nicholson visited with her mother, Pearl Stevenson. Betty Cardno, Irene Okahashi, Rosie, Sandy and friend visited Donald Graham. On Monday, December 1, Hazel Proctor’s niece Grace and John visited her. Doug and Evelyn Purdy visited the residents. On Tuesday, Jerry Graff played the piano for the residents. Millie Nixon visited Maggie Griffith. Mary Clark and Ruth McArter visited Howard Clark. On Thursday, Pearl Stevenson went to London with Carol Steven­ son. There was a draw at the nursihg home. Gordon Grant won a sweater, Barb Graber won a wreath, Ev Demaray won a ball and Joy Elliott won a pink baby blanket. The Anglican church hosted the residents’ birthday party. Anne Smith played the piano on Friday for the residents.
