Ralph Logan and Don Allison of Wyoming visited with Mrs. Doro­ thy Logan on Friday evening. Leslie Vincent is a patient in University Hospital, London where he had surgery on Monday. The Evening Unit of the U.C.W. held its Christmas meeting at the home of Mrs. Laura Johnston. The leader Mrs. Robert Grasby opened the meeting with “A thought for the day”, followed by the business. It was moved that the group subscribe to the Canadian Geographic for another year for the Wingham and District Hospital. A Christmas Worship service was presented by Mrs. John WMS celebrates Christmas The Belgrave W.M.S. held their Christmas meeting on Monday, December 1 atthe home of Mrs. Mac Scott. Mrs. Robena McBurney presid­ ed and opened with a poem, “A Gift from Heaven. ” “O Little Town of Bethlehem” was sung. Mrs. Scott read scripture and Mrs. Garner Nicholson read a medita­ tion on “Christ’s birth.” Mrs. Margaret Dunbar led in prayer. The roll call was answered with a Bible verse on “Jesus’ birth”. Mrs. McBurney read the poem “Which is your guide?” Secre­ tary’s report was given by Mrs. McBurney and Mrs. Ivy Cloakey gave the treasurer’s report. The program was prepared by Mrs. John Roberts consisting of several Christmas poems and the story of the “Legend of the First Creche.” The meeting closed with the benediction followed by lunch served by Mrs. George Michie and Mrs. Bill Coultes. EIGHT TABLES ATEUCHRE Eight tables were in play at the weekly euchre which was held in the Women’s Institute Hall Wed­ nesday, December 3. Winners were: high lady, Mrs. Mabel Wheeler; novelty lady, Mrs. Cliff Bray; low lady, Mrs. Eva McGill; high man, Mel Jacklin; novelty man, Lewis Stonehouse; low man, George Johnston. The supper was held at the Wingham Golf and Country Club with a most enjoyable evening. Ontario Dairy Princess visits Belgrave area Angela Nethery, Huron County Dairy Princess, had the pleasure of a visit from Ontario Dairy Princess Gayle Lewis from Middlesex Coun­ ty- On Tuesday they attended Bob McNeil’s farm at RR 6, Goderich where school children from Blyth and Belgrave had a tour of the bam to learn more about the dairy industry. In the afternoon Gayle and Angela brought greetings to the Breed Improvement meeting. The following day, five schools in the Goderich area visited Glen McNeil’s farm. All the children received a glass of milk and a milk sticker. Angela said it was a pleasure to host Gayle while she was in Huron County. Gayle wasanovernight visitor with Angela. Night” was sung. The Annual meeting will be held in Wingham on January 19.
