FAMILY & CHILDREN'S SERVICES OF HURON COUNTY. 524-7356 The programs offered by Family and Children’s Services of Huron County are mandated by legislation in order to protect children and give counselling to families. Family and Children’s Services handle adoptions, foster homes and supervise the homes. Now in its 75th year, the agency offers Christmas programs and summer camps, which are funded by donations. In total, Family and Children’s Services assist approximately 200 families a month which is equal to 400 children. Community Support for Families - Huron County, is a service provided to help children with developmental handicaps to live at home with their families. The services and support strive to give the child a positive value and status in the community. THE HURON CENTRE FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH. 482-3931 The Huron Centre for Children and Youth is a non-profit organization funded by the Ontario government. It provides confidential, free counselling to families with children up to 19 years of age. In 1977, the main office was set up in Clinton, and employees will assist family members who may have difficulty in dealing with the sickness or death of a family member, the problems of raising children or even arguments that can lead to family breakdown. The Centre for Children and Youth meets weekly with some or all family members to discuss what changes would be helpful to that particular family and how the family can make things better.
