Murray Lobb
Lik es the outdoor life
(By Judy Malda)
This week I'd like to introduce
you to one of the more familiar
teachers 'in our school, This
. teacher is Mr. Murray Lobb and
he specializes ,inteaching •science,
agriculture and.bioloy.
I guess you could call him a
native of this area. He was raised
on a dairy farm near Clinton, Ont.
where he grew up with two
younger.brothers and a sister and
two older brothers.. .
He attended the high school in
Clinton and upon, graduation went
to study at the RidgetOwn Agri-
culture college for two years.
Mr. Lobb

underway
On Dec. 2, the senior boys
opened their season if not
impressively at least victoriously:
with a 51-44 victory 'over the'
Norwell Redmen. In a sloppily
played game, the Mustangs went
ahead at the start and Norwell
never closed to better than 1
point. Top scorer was John
Underwood with 18 points and
Greg Simpell with 8 points.
On Dec. 8, the senior Mustangs
made made it two..in a royii4ith.',a
devastating 69-27 victory, over the
South Huron ?anthers; Defense
was the name of the, gait* as4he
team allowed only '6 field koals •
the entire game. -There was a
well-balanced scoring attack :led •
by Roger Morrison with 22 points,
John Underwood 14; John
Campbell and Darrel Anderson 10
each.
Keep up the goo& work team
after completing his studies he
became the Assistant Dean of
Min at the same college for one
year. Mr.' Lobb, then went on to
study at the Guelph University for
four years where he received hig
degree. He got married during
his fourth year of university.
After graduating Mr. Lobb and
his wife moved to a farm near
Holmesville and he started teach-
ing at F.E. Madill.
As far as travelling goes, he
has been as far west as Vancouver
and as far east as Halifax and he
has also travelled through the
central United States. Together
with his wife, he enjoys cross-
country skiing, hiking and camp-
ing. As a hobby, Mr. Lobb farms
part time. •
I asked Mr. Lobb what he
enjoys •most about his Jife. He
replied that the greatest thing
that's happened to him and his
wife is the arrival of their adopted
eight month old daughter,
Heather,, who arrived in the
spring'. Heappreciates being able
to work with the teachers and
students of F.E. Madill. He
admires a life' style that would
involve such things as the follow-
ing; walking through the woods,
mowing someone's lawn and not
expecting payment, trying to
keep a home (however simple)
looking tidy, and cross-country
skiing in the moonlight.
This is Mr. Lobb's seventh year
of teaching here at Madill. On
behalf of the students and
teachers of this school I'd like to
wish Mr. Lobb lots of success in
whatever the future holds for him
and his family.
