performed a skit.
Members of the Institute, not
anxious to do it all, asked the
audience to participate in a story,
entitled "Betty Boop, Popeye and
The Wolfe." Met. Allan.
Campbell gave a humourous.
reading entitled "A Mother's
Letter to a Newfie Son."
The closing number was the
Institute's verison of "Hee
Haw". All members participated,
each one playing a rythm band
instrument and dressed like a
man or woman on the television
show.
Santa Claus made his
appearance shortly after, giving
each child a bag of candies.
The Presbyterian Sunday
School room was filled on Sunday
afternoon when the audience
enjoyed a program' of .recitations,
piano solos, skits, step dancing
and carol singing.

Laughs were enjoyed by both
young and old when the local
Women's Institute sponsored its
annual Christmas party on Friday
evening.
The members opened the
concert with several Christmas
carols, asking the children in the
audience to join in singing "Away
in a Manger." Recitations were
given by children of the
community, Donna Johnston,
Kevin Schmidt, Marjorie
Campbell, Mark Breckenridge,
Steven Johnston"; Tracy Jarvis
and Greg Moffatt.
Some lively step dancing was
enjoyed when Sandra Moffatt,
Joanne Shaw and Debbie
Johnston gracedcentre stage and
later when four McMichael
sisters, Janice, Karen, Judith and
Rhonda entertained.
A play, "A Slight Mistake"
was acted by Mrs. William de
Vos, Mrs. Alex MacTavish, Mrs.
Robt Peel and Mrs. Wendell
The children and teachers of
he Sunday School were in charge
,)f the. White Gift service at the
United Church on Sunday
morning.
Arlene Johnston' and Alan
Campbell were the leaders with

Susan Chapman as commentator.
A skit, "The Parade of
Nations" was 'acted by "The
Cooking Crumbs" of Bluevale 11.
'Wild Oats," also put on a skit,
"The Grand Debate" by Bluevale Wingham, Provincial
