Majestic ladies haves pot luck
The Library was nicely
decorated for the Christmas pot
luck dinner for about 40 ladies of
the Majestic institute. AU enjoyed
dinner December fi at 12:30 p.m.
Mrs. Lula Kerr played a number
of.Christmas selections on the
piano.
The president, Mrs. Doris
McCall, then opened the meeting
with a • poem "A Florida
Christmas."
A training school for senior
leaders is to be held at Wingham,
January 25 and 26. Mrs. Peggy
Cudmore, Mrs. Dorothy Steffler
and Mrs. Alma Watson are to
take the course.
Obituaries
ELMER COLLIS
Elmer Collis of RR 4 Atwood
died in Listowel Memorial
Hospital on December 100976
after suffering from a lengthy
illness.
_ Mr. ,Collis was born in Grey
Township in 1908 and lived on the
same farm all his life until he
retired then moved to Henfryn.
He was married to the former
Syliva Thompson of Grey
Township.
Mr. Collis is survived by one
sister Mrs. Mildred Hamilton of
Listowel and one son William of
Henfryn.
Mr. Collis was predeceased by
one sister Mrs. Mel Carnochan.
The Funeral service was held
December 13 at the Trench
Funeral Home, .Listowel.
Pallbearers were LeslieKerr,
Jim Henderson, Wayne Lichtliand
Bill Kellington.
Mrs. Cooney and Mrs, Krauter
spoke on community work for the
nursing home and asked that
an auxiliary be formed. The roll
call was a memory of a Christmas
concert and some interesting
answers were given,
Members are asked to save
stamps to be given to Mrs. Wilma
Hemingway.
Mrs. Alberta SMith convened
the rest of the meeting. Seyeral
carols were sung with Mrs.
Wilma Hemingway leading and
Mrs. Kerr at the piano.
Mrs. Dorothy Steffler showed
pictures and told of her trip to the
east coast.
Mrs. Cudmore as Santa Clause,
passed out gifts to everyone.
The meeting closed with the
Queen.
The next meeting is to be held.
January 12 at 2 p.m. with. Mrs. C.
Watson and Mrs.. E. Cudmore as
conveners.

MRS. CHRISTIAN LEONHARDT
Mrs. Christian Leonhardt of
178 Main Street S., Seaforth
passed away suddenly on
Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1976 at the
Seaforth Community Hospital
shortly after being admitted.
She was the former Ernina
Catherine Wesenberg and was
born at Brodhagen on July 2, 1897
daughter of the late Henry
Wesenberg and the former Mary
Beuerman.
On November 25, 1920 she was
married to Christian Leonhardt
who survives. 'Following their
marriage, they farmed • in
McKillop and Logan Townships,
moving to Mitchell in 1945. They
have resided in Seaforth since
1966. She was a member of St.
Peter's Lutheran Church,
Brodhagen.
Surviving besides her husband
are three sons, Mervyn and
Alvin, both of Brodhagen, and
Lester of Seaforth; one daughter
Laurine, Mrs. John Smith of
Clinton; one brother George
Wesenberg of Brussels; and four
sisters, Louise, Mrs. Clayton
Carleton of Niagara Falls, N.Y.,
Mrs. Barbara McLeod of London,
Irene, Mrs. John Hinz of
Kitchener and Marie, Mrs.
Harold Cosby' of Niagara Falls,
Ontario. There are 13 grandchild-
ren and 1 great-grandson.
The late Mrs. Leonhardt rested
at the Lockhart Funeral Home in
Mitchell where funeral arid
committal services were held on
Thursday with the Rev. Arthur
Horst officiating. Friends and
relatives attended from London,
Luelph, Clinton, Bluevale,
Brussels, Toronto, Kitchener,
Acton, Seaforth, Brodhagen and
Mitchell, expressions of
Sympathy Were Shown through
floral tributes and memorials to
the heart foundation, Lutheran
Hone,. Ritz Lutheran Villa,' Church
Missions and St. Peters Lutheran
Church Iniproverierit. Fund.
Temporay entOmbment Was made
in the Elilabeth Ritz Memorial
Chapel With burial later in St.
Peter's Lutheran Cerneteryo
Brodhagen.
