It looks as if there'll be an election for reeve in Morris township where the present deputy, Jim Mair, is challenging incumbent reeve, Bill Elston. All the other Morris councillors have gone in by acclamation; Thomas Miller as deputy reeve and Robert Grasby, Sam Pletch and Ross Proctor as councillors. A race for deputy reeve is shaping up in Grey township where incumbent Cliff Bray, councillor Jack Johnston and a former reeve Charle Thomas have all been nominated. Mr. "Isn't he supposed to be unconscious?" Thomas, has to withdraw from either the school board or the Grey contets. All candidates had until 5 p.m. Tuesday to withdraw their names. Grey reeve, Roy Williamson has been acclaimed to office. Leona Armstrong, John Gillis and Jack Johnston. have been nominated for the. three Grey The November meeting of the Melville W.M.S. was held in the church parlor with ten members and two visitors present. Mrs. Martin, the President opened the meeting with the poem "I do not know". Hymn "Break Th ou the Bread o 'f Life" was sung with Mrs. King at the piano. Mrs. Martin led in prayer. The minutes of the October meeting were read by the secretary, Mrs. Steiss and the treasurer's report by Mrs. Amy Speir. A letter of thanks for the Life Membership from Miss Muriel Brothers was read by Mrs. Speir. A collection for the Yokohama nursery school in Japan was council openings. Mr. Johnston will have to withdraw from either the council or the deputy reeve., contest. In neighbouring McKillop township, reeve Allan Campbell, deputy reeve, Ralph McNichol and councillors Art Anderson, Harvey Craig and Bill Leeming have all been acclaimed to office. taken'.
