LAWRENCE PLANT
Lawrence Plant of Ethel,
formerly of Brussels, passed
away in Seaforth Community
Hospital on Tuesday October
19th, 1976 is his 61st year.
He is the son of the late Nelson
and Bertha Plant of Howcik
Township.
He is survived by one son,
Glenn Plant of Edmonton, Albert;
three grandchildren; threelpisters
Mrs. Jean Ward of St. Thomas,
Mrs. Irene Barton of Hamilton
and Mrs. Laura Cruishank of St.
Mrairys and four brothers, Harvey
of Allenford, and A tit, Ross and
Stan, all of London.
He was predeceased by one
sister, Myra.
Funeral services were held
from the M.L. Watts Funeral
Home, Brussels at 2:00 p.m.
Friday, October 22nd. Rev. E.
LeDrew officiated. Interment was
in Brussels Cemetery. '
JOHN CUSICK
John Cusick, 83, of Santa Ana,
California, died there on October
2. He was 83. Mr. Cusick is
survived by his wife, the former
Eleanor House and three step
sons, several cousins and nieces
and nephews.
He was born on a farm near
Cranbrook to James Cusick and
his wife Alice Douglas. He served
in the Canadian Army during
World War I and was assigned to
a unit which operated the military
rail service in France in 1919.
On his 26th birthday he crossed
the border at Detroit, Michigan,
and spent the rest of his life in the
United States.
The Cusicks last lived at 1047
West 3rd St. , Santa Ana.
MRS. FLORENCE RUSSELL
Mrs. Florence Russell died at
Wingham Hospital Sunday, 17th
of October after a brief illneSs in
her 89th year.
A life long resident of the
community and a member of St.
Ambrose Roman Catholic
Church, Mrs. Russell was the
wife of the late Aleaxander
Russell who predeceased her in
1928. She was born in McKillop
Township, the daughter of the
late John Storey and Elizabeth
Beirnes.
She is survived by four daugh-
ters: Margaret (Mrs. John
Kelly), Kate (Mrs. Eldon
Wilson), both of Brussels, Clara
(Mrs. Norman Haig) of Waterloo
and Hannah (Mrs. William
Weiss) of Willowdale; also by one
Storey of
with the RCAF.
Also surviving are '10 grand-
children and 20 great-grandchild-
ren. She was predeceased by two
grandchildren. Three sisters and
two brothers also predeceased
her. .
Family Rosary services were-
offered at the Watts Funeral
Home on MOnday evening,
followed by a Requiem Mass from
St. Ambrose Church on Tuesday
morning.
Officiating at the services were
Rev. Father Beaudry of Tees-
water and Rev. Msgr. L. Phelan
of St. Augustine.
Interment was in St. Ambrose
Cemetery, Brussels.
Pallbearers were: Scott Wilson
Leo Deitner and William Blake of
, Brussels, William K. Weiss of
Willowdale, Patrick Kennedy of
Cookstown and Junior Storey of
Seaforth.
For the past year .Mrs. Russell
has resided at the Senior Citizens
where she had the honour of
assisting at the official opening by
cutting the ribbon, having been

DUNCAN CARTWRIGHT
Duncan Cartwright, who
worked for the Brussels Post in
the 1930's, died Sunday in
Richmond Hill. He was in his 65th
year.
He is survived by his wife, Pat
Osborne Cartwright, a daughter,

MRS. FRED BURCHELL
Word was received here Friday
morning, October 22nd, of the
death of Mrs. Fred Burchell, of
Perth, a former Brussels resident.
She passed away on Thursday,
october 21st at the age of 87
years.
Funeral services were held on
Saturday, 00ober 23rd with
burial at Perth.
She was predeceased by her
husband, Fred Burchell and one
son, Fred, who was killed while
serving overseas.
Surviving are two sons, Scott of
Perth and Joe of Montreal and
daughter Frances of Perth.
