L. Dickson,
missionary
to speak
in Listowel
Listowel is to have the
opportunity of hearing
missionary-humanitarian Mrs.
Lillian Dickson at Knox
Presbyterian Church on October
21 at 7:45 p.m.
Moved by compassion for the
people of Taiwan when she was a
missionary-wife, she began a
quarter-century ago to rescue
boys out of prison, lepers ,from
suicidal depression,
mountaineers dying from
tuberculosis and girls about to be
sold into prostitution. She called
her work The Mustard Seed
Mission. Today it has grown far
beyond expectation, with sixty
projects working at full speed in
preaching, medical work,
hospitals, clinics, prison-visi-
tation, schools and orphanges,
etc.
Mrs. Dickson will be welcomed
by many who have learned to love
and admire her, and who have
become partners with her by
sponsoring orphans, or young
people in training in Taiwan and
Papua.
She will be bringing news of
the latest outreach of her tribal
missionaries who have left their
homes to preach the gospel in
Borneo, of the new trade-schools
she is establishing Papua-New
Guinea, and of the Christian
Teachers Training College now
operating in Kalitnantar
All the women's organizations
at Knox Presbyteri ani. Church,
Listowel, welcome everyone and
extend a warm invitation to all to
come and hear Mrs. Dickson. A
color film entitled, "While it is
Day" on the work of Mrs. Dickson
and the Mustard Seed Mission or
the island of' Taiwan will also' be
shown.
