Mr. and Mrs, Stanley Snell of London spent a few days with he brother Harold Keating, Trisha Marie daughter of Mr and Mrs. James Taylor, 11,113, Wingham won 2nd prize in the Baby Contest at Lucknow Fair Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Smith of Clifford, George Inglis of Walkerton and John Leppingtoe of Clinton were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bienint and Miss Evelyn Biernan: Mr. and Mrs. David Spen of Toronto spent the weekend with her mother Mrs.Ceed Coultes. Classified Ads pay dividends, Mrs. L. Stonehouse Correspondent There were 153 pupils registered at E.W. P.S. this year. One new teacher came _to the school. She is Mrs. Oriold and teaches French. Mrs. Edgar is teaching now in Grades 1-2 until Mrs. Henry is able to come back. There are fifteen children in Kindgergarten. They are:Gayle Campbell, Lynne Campbell, Shawn Campbell, Danny Casemore, Jason Coultes, Steven Heifer, Joey Mason, Stacey McClinchey, Thorsten Muscheid, Sharon Ramsey, Jeffery Scott, Jonathon Stein, Steven Taylor, Jacquelyn Van Camp, and Stephen White. These people have been busy learning how to use the things in the room and how to tidy up afterwards. One day they looked for red objects and then brought something red from home. They had fun marching in the parade at the school fair. Grades 1 - 2 have been busy learning new songs, new words, new poems and new number conceps. It looks as if it is going to be a busy and exciting year for Grades 1 - 2. The Grades 4 -5 pupils are . busy preparing weed collections as a science project. They visited a neighbouring field and did a study of golden rod and the insects that are attracted to this widespread weed. Later this month they hope to examine seeds and perhaps grow some plants from seed. In Grades 5 - 6 the pupils have been kept fairly busy. They are studying ants in science class and have several specimens for their study. Grade sevens are involved in outdoor studies in science and research units on "The Canadian Indians" in history. Lori Cameron has been absent for a short while following her wrestling match with a horse. Needless to say the horse won and Lori is hopefully recovering. Grade 8 worked hard preparing for the school fair.They hope to have entries for a literary contest in October. The following new pupils were are welcomed to the school, as well as the Kindergarten class Jana Vincent Gr. 1, Carolyn, George and Michael Mason, Heather Stinson and Shawn Vincent Grade 3, Jim Stinson Grade 4, Peter George Grade 5, Erika Stangen Grade 6 and Alfred Stangen, Grade 8. Elect Bonnie Walker At the first meeting of Belgrave II 4-H club Bonnie Walker was elected president. Connie Meurs vice president with each girl taking turn at secretary and press reports. Mrs. Richard Moore outlined the project "The Cereal Shelf" and discussed a "Wide World of Cereals". Mrs. Clarke Johnston discussed "The Food Guide" and "A record of Cereals". Demonstration - Barbara Moore and Cathy Stile% Sonja Muscheid and Kathy Black demonstrated Fry Pan cookies. , Afternoon U.C.W. Belgrave Afternoon U.C.W, September 14th in the Sunday School room when Mrs. Janisa Coultes opened the meeting: "Come Thou Almighty King" Was sung followed with prayer by Mrs. Coulter: Mrs. Eliiabeth Leslie read the scripture taken from Philippians Chapter 3 verses 13 and 14 and Mrs. Leslie gave the comment. Mrs.Robert Hibberd read, a poem "0 Lord of Heaven and Earth and Sea" was read together. Presbyterial will be held at St. Helen's on September 29. Offering • was received and dedicated by Mrs. Coultes. Mrs. Walter Scott took charge of the Bible Study using the book of Ruth. Mrs. Willard Armstrong had the study and spoke on the country of Japan, giving some insight on the size and the industries. Rob. Witmer was one of the missionaries who had gone to Japan. "In Christ there is no East of West" was sung and Mrs.Coultes closed the meeting with prayer. Personals Mr. and Mrs. McCurdy Lowry of Florida, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Smith of London visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.Bert Johnston also called on Mrs. Amelia Brown of Cozy Cottage at Whitechurch. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hibberd attended the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Doig of Fordwich in the Fordwich United Church Sunday afternoon. Edgar relatives were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Doer of Wingham on Sunday to honour Mr. and Mrs. Don Craig of Blyth on their 15th wedding anniversary. This community was shocked last Sunday to learn of the death of Bobby Joe Leishmap.We extend deepest sympathy to his parents Mr. and Mrs. James Leishman , his brothers and sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Jamieson and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hanna holidaye'd in Michigan last week for a few days.
