Harry Lear was guest soloist
at the Sunday morning chapel
service and was accompanied at
the organ by his wife, Gail. The
service was conducted by the.
Chaplain, Rev. McVVhinnie, with
Doug Crich at the organ.
Marie Flynn, Norman Speir
and Lorne Lawson provided the
old tyme music for Monday's
activities. Three new residnets
were welcomed to the Home:
Mrs. Underwood, Wingham, and
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Love, Of
Hensall. The special guest for the
afternoon was Allan Johns of
Vancouver B.C., a native of
Tuckersmith, and an active
volunteer worker in his home
community.. The Clinton Christian
Reform Volunteers assisted with
the activities.
"The Pathfinders", a group of
seven girls from the Blyth
Christian Reform Church,
entertained on Family Night with
gospel music. The girls sang
several of the older hymns taking
different parts and in harmony--
the favourite • being the old
spiritual "Steal Away". The
singers were Darlene Wesselink,
Joanne Bakelaar, Jenny Reinink,
Emmy Monkes, Jo-Ai tn
Passchier, Anita and Jenny
Datema. Miss Pearl Gidley
expressed the appreciation of the
residents.
The Crediton Women's
Institute were hosts for the
September birthday party. Mrs.
Norman• Eveland was emcee for
the afternoon. Mrs. Don
Finkbeiner, Lois Hodgins, Otis.
Sawyer, Ross and Nola Love
provided the program. Gifts were
presented •to the twenty-seven
celebrants and ,lunch was served
by the ladies. Mrs. McCreath
thanked the Institute on behalf of
the residents.
