Legion Hall. • After the 'introduction of the parents by the grade' tight students a toast to the School Board was proposed by Jacquie Workman with a reply by Charles Thomas. Garry McWhirter proposed a toast IQ the teachers and was replied to by Mrs. Idella Wilson. Susan Cardiff gave the toast to the parents and Clarence McCutchcon replied. The toast to the 'students was made by Mrs. Colleen.Robertson and replied to by Brenda Knight. The valedictorian address was presented by ,Barbara Johnston' followed- by the introduction of the grade eight 'students' by Mrs. Doreen Raym ond, Miss Sandra Slotegraaf, Ken Scott, Miss Lois Anonech, and Mrs. Mary Huether. McClory made a special presentation on behalf of the Grade 8 class to theschool of a • substantial sum of money to be purchase sports In the presentation of awards Barbara Johnston received the science award presented by Wilfred Shortreed of the Huron County Board Of Education. Garry McWhirter received the. grade seven "Good Guy Award" presented by Pauline McLellan of Grade Seven. Marlene Pennington received the mathematics award • from W.D.Kenwell, Superintendent of Education, and Martin Murray won the English award presented by Doreen Raymond. Jim Knight presented the Citizenship Award on behalf of the Brussels Lions Club to 'Sherry Robertson and Gary McCutcheon. Here's what the new law says and how a tari residents can help. This new Act provides that a blind person accompanied ,by.a dog guide has the same rights, privileges and obligations—.with respect to public places—as anyone else. He or she cannot be discriminated against or denied any accommodation, services or facilities available in any place to which the public is customarily admitted., ' It isiMportant that dog guide owners know their rights-under the Act and that the public, especially employers and their employees, be made aware of the Or,OVisiOn'S of the Ac,1 and their responsibilities under it: The Attorney General of Ontario will issue identifi- cation cards to dog guide owners. The card will carry a photograph of the owner and dog, as well as Their narnes,:and will also carry a summary of the main features of the Act.
