Money for Guatemala st•len
In the past few months we have
had a number of break-ins here at
the school. The most serious one
occurred on March 16th.
We have been raising money,
for the poor unfortunate children
in Guatemala.We had already
deposited $170.00 in the bank for
safe keeping. More money was
taken that night to the bank,
Unfortunately there had been
some• left in the classrooms which
was stolen. This money was not
the school's money, it was money
donated from children's
allowances to help other hungry,
homeless and helpless children.
We are really sorry to think that
someone in this, community would
take money put aside for a special
cause like this, and hope whoever
did this would feel ashamed of

Report Cards.
On Friday, March the 12th, the
report cards went home and the
students finally got to see the,
results of their 2nd term effort. In
each report card envelope, an
interview slip was placed, and the
parents were to sign it stating
whether they wanted an interview
or not. Then the interview sheets
were returned to the school and

Being there myself, 1. was
fortunate enough to be able to
feel the excitement and butter-
flies within my stomach and I'm
sure the other speakers stomach's
too! The sweating and worrying
before, the heart pounding *and
knee shaking at the time makes
you give a sigh of relief when it's
all over. It's really quite an
experience.
All the speeches were really
well done, but only two people
could be the real winners, one
from the junior division and one
from the senior. From our school
Kendra Robertson went to
represent the jun iors and
Heather Brent represented the
seniors.

The End of Skating
On March 17th - 19th, out
school is having a catch-up time
for skating, because some classes'
have been at the Community
Centre more often than o then,
Since the ice is being taken out
soon, Mr Robertson; and Mr
Livermore wanted to make sun,
that each class had the sane
amount of time to enjoy this
' opportunityinstead of a teaching
lesson on skating, -these periods
are free sakting, where we have
time to skate around for general
improvement. We want to thank
our Students' Council for renting
the ice for this season's skating,

Famous Holidays
Most people don't realize all
the holidays that are in the month
of March. But Mr. Farnell's
grade 4 class did realize, and pin
a chart up on a bulletin board in'
one of the halls. Some famous
holidays are: The Ides of March
on the 15th when Julius Caesar
was 'assassinated:. St: D asid's
Day, a Welsh holiday on March
lst, The World Day of Prayer on
March 5, which is 'celebrated all
around the world and, St. Patrick's
Day on March 17 when the
snakes were driven out of Ireland.
SO next year when March comes
around remember the famous
holidays.
