HOPES FOR COUNTRY HOME
Douglas very much wants to belong to a family. He's not being
very specific about what kind of a family but lie thinks it. will be
nice if they live in the country.
Douglas is 14, tall, slim lad with brown curly hair, blue eyes
(his glasses are. for near sightedness) and freckles. His
background is Anglo-Saxon.
In opportunity class, Douglas enjoys Working with his hands
and he has many interests and hobbies, including crafts and
models. He is interested in stereo equipment, is a keen gardener
and belongs to Scouts. He is sports-minded, with hockey,
baseball and swimming his favorites.
Polite, pleasant Douglas will be a fine son for a family who will
appreciate his personality and Will help hirn develop his potential
in non ,acadcmic areas.

OBITUARIES OPP reports recent investigations
HUGH BURNET. SMITH,
Funeral services were held on
Friday, December 27th at 2 p.m.
from the McLaughlin and. Reed
Funeral Home, Listowel, for the
late Hugh Burnet Smith, .80, of
the Callander Nursing Home,
Brussels,
Mr. Smith, died December 24th
at the Wingham and District
Hospital.
Born Sept, 12th, 1894 in Grey
Township, he was a son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Oliphant (Mary
Ireland) Smith.
His wife, the former Agnes
Sangster, predeceased him.
A retired farmer, Mr. Smith
\vas a member of the Molesworth
Presbyterian Church and a 50-
year jewel member of Bernard
(Masonic) Lodge No. 225 of
Listowel.
He is survived by three sons,
James of Molesworth; G. Mac of
R.R.2, Listowel and Kenneth of
Kitchener; one daughter, Mrs.
Wallace (Marion) McKee of
Atwood; three brothers, William
And James of Brussels, Charles of
Belgrave; three sisters Mrs.
Melvin (Jean) Taylor and
Mrs. Sam (Margaret) Sweeney,
)(All of Brussels, and
Ars, Clifford (Marjorie) Ritchie of
Afalton; 12 grandchildren and one
reat-grancichild.
He was predeceased hy two
iisters, Mrs. George (Marion)
Wightman and Mrs. Harold
Elizabeth ) Cardiff.
Rev. John Brush of Molesworth
.oliducted the funeral service. A
Masonic Lodge service was held
l'hursday at 8 P.M. Dec. 26th.
Burial was in Molesworth
Cemetery.
MISS LAVINA AGNES SCOTT
Miss Lavina Agnes Scott
passed away in Goderich Hospital
on January 5th, 1.975.
A daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs, William John Scott, she was
55 years. of age.
She is survived by three sisters,
Mrs. James (Evelyn) Mair of
R.R.5, Brussels, Mary Scott of
Wingham; Mrs.Andrew (Isabel;
Stewart of Flin Flon, Man,: two.
brothers, Lloyd Scott of Wingham
and Spence Scott of Brussels.
The funeral and comm ital
service was held at the
R.A.Currie Funeral Home,
Wingham at 2 p,m. on Tuesday.
Interment later in Wingham
Cemetery.
MRS. EDNA GARSALITZ
Mrs. Edna Gorsality, 300.
Cottage Dr., Prudenville,
formerly of Flint, age 70, died
Friday, December 13, 1974 at her
residence.
Funeral services were held at
10:30 a.m. Tuesday. at First •
Baptist Church, Houghton Lake,
Rev. John Pruden officiating.
Graveside services were held at
3:00 P.M. Tuesday at Sunset Hills
Cemetery, Flint.
Mrs. Garsalitz was born in
Whitcwater, Missouri, February
24, 1904. She had been employed
by A.C.SPark Plug Division for 16
years.

Robert Darnell of Chicago,
Delmar Gorsalitz of Ohio and
Richard Gorsalitz of Houston,

Prudenvillc , until time of service.

the week December 23 to
December 29, 1974, carried out
by officers at. Wingham
Detachment include:
On Monday, December 23,
Joanne M. Hickey of R.R.#3,
Auburn was westbound on
Concession Road 2-3; west of
Highway #4, EAst Wawanosh
Township when the car she was
driving went off the north side of
the road, entered the north ditch
and struck a telephone pole. No
one was injured, and damages
were estimated at $300.00,
On Wednesday, December 25,
Lloyd W. Taylor of Bluevale and
Glen C. James of Brussels were

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Smith,
Kathy and Murray, Mr. and Mrs.

involved in a collision on
Concession 4-5 at the junction of
Sideroad 15-16, Morris Township.
There were no injuries, and
damages to both cars were
estimated at $1100,00.
On Tuesday, December 24,
Richard. G. Demerling of Clifford
was southbound on Sideroad
15-16, north of Huron County
Road 7 when the car he was
driving went off the roadway into
the west ditch and struck a hydro
pole. There were no injuries, and
damages were estimated at
$350.00.
On Wednesday, December 25,
Brian E. Leachman of R.R.#2,
Wingham and Calvin G. Ruttan of
New Years with Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Porter and family of
Lucknow.
Mr. and Mrs.George Fischer
spent the weekend at St. George.
Bob Pritchard returned home
with them after spending a week
here.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Johnston
and Mr. and Mrs. Hughcampbell
were in charge of the 'euchre
party, Thursday, January 2, when
9 tables were in play. Prizes were
won by,- High Lady - Mrs. Ton
Miller; Low Lady - Mrs. Ross
R,R,3, Wingham were involved 1
a two car collision on Macintosh
Street, east of Helena Street,
Turnberry Township. There were
no injuries.Damages were t
estimated at $200.00.
On Saturday, December 28,
Larry K. Zinn was westbound o
Highway #86 east of the C.N,11
X-ing, Turnberry Township
Another vehicle, travelling east
entered the westbound lane
Mr. Zinn swerved to the right, lt
doing so, he struck a sign pas
and a mail box and came to rest it
the south ditch. No one wa
injured, and damages wer,
estimated at $350.00.

Mission Band and Explorers was
held with leaders Mrs' . Keith
Moffatt, Mrs. Jim English and;
Marie Walker.
News of Bluevale
