that the new club house at the lawn bowling greens near the fair grounds was once
the village CN station. The club moved part of the station and renovated it this

MARY KATHERINE PHELAN
Friends were saddened by the
sudden passing of Mary
Katherine Phelan , 'wife of the
late-Patrick James Phelan at her
residence on ' Thursday,
Deceit-Mei. 18 in her
eighty-second year. ,
She was born at Clinton, Feb.
11, 1894 ,daughter of John
Carbeth and Maria Keyes. In
June of .1920 she married Patrick;
jams Phelan and moved to
Morris Township where they
resided till 1960, when they
moved to Blyth., Mr. Phelan
passed away in -Sept. 1966.
She was a faithful member of
St. Michael's Church, Blyth. She
was a member of the Catholic
Women's League, Altar Society
and League of the Sacred Heart.
Requiturn mass was celebrated
by her brother-in-law, Rt. Rev.
L.J.Phclan of St. Augustine. The
funeral sermon was preached by
her Pastor Rev. LEI-lardy.
The pallbearers, were her four
grandsons James, William, and
Joseph Phelan, Michael Boyle„
her neighbours, William Hull and s
Ralph McCrea.
Temporary entombment was at,
-Blyth Cemetery Chapel with
spring .burial in St. Michael's.

Mrs. Phelan is survived by her:
son Louis-of Morris township and.
a daughter Mary .(Mrs.
Boyle). West Wawanosh
Township, nine grandchildren
