Stonehouse Pupils of /East Wawanosh Pub- lic School presented their annual Christmas Codcert to many friends and parents on Tuesday evening. There were seven main pre- sentations in which mostly junior children participated. Kindergar- ten class presented a play called "Mother Gooses' Christmas". Seventeen students were involved Grades 1 and 2 did an operetta entitled . "Christmas Eve's Dream". Grades 2 and 3 combined their talents and also presented an operetta "Sarita gans,:gxpress". The classes of 4' • and 5 entertained the ,audieilce with a combination of a sing song, piano solos and a play entitle "Christ mas All Over the Place". The Trinity Anglican Church held its Christmas social in the Bel- grave Community Centre on December 19. The hall was decorated with a Christmas tree laden with. gifts. The programe opened with a Welcome Song and a recitation of welcome was given by Janette Rock. Recitations were also given by Denise and Angela Nethery, Johanna VanSamp, Mark Stack- house, _Joel --and„ Jonathan Van Camp. Carols were sung by Johanna and Jonathan Van Camp. In- school's Glee Club which consist- ed of some senior pupils sang many Christmas songs. The final event of the evening was the Primary Mass choir consisting of Kindergarten to grade three. They sang four songs. The children were all very intertesting A lot of hard work was done in getting the scenery prepared for their plays. Gains Shut Out The Belgrave Tyke Hockey team played two games last week and their goalie John Smuck got a shut-out in each game. On Wednesday night they defeated Blyth 2-0 with Alan Heikoop and Bill Haines getting Belgrave goals. On Friday night they shutout Kurtzville 9-0. Randy Nixon got 3 goals, Bill Haines 2, ' and Robert Gordon, Steven strumental music was furnished by Laurie and Pat Stackhouse on their violins accompanied by Mrs. Archie Montgomery on the piano. Joanne and Jennifer played piano solo's. Tap dancing was present- ed by Pat Stackhouse, Joanne and Jennifer Rock. Jonathan Van Camp read a Christmas Reading. A play entitled "The Perfect Christmas Gift" was presented. Santa Claus arrived on sche dule to ...the great delight 'Of the smaller children and distributed gifts and bags of candy. and enjoyed by all. Mrs. Stanley Hopper presided for the business portion. Mrs. Bess Higgins read the minutes, financial statement arid correspondence. Mrs. Herson Irwin volunteered to purchase and send a Christmas gift to a War veteran at WeStmin-. ster Hospital, It was agreed to order 35 copies of Federated News for the members use, A euchre and dance was set for January 3, The committee in charge is euchre ; Mrs. Lawrence Taylor ; Mrs, Garner Nicholson ; LUrich„ Ws:Lorne Jamieson, Mrs Leonard Jaines. Moran Bros, BandWill play for the dance, Mrs., C.M. Hanna was re appointed to East Wavvanosli Recreation Board Meinhers agreed to cater for Credit Union Annual Banquet on Febttiary6. The January meeting will be held at 2:600.rii. in the Community Centre MOMS. Coultes, Graham Taylor and Paul Coultes one each. Reeve Entertains Morris Township Council offi- cials and employees were enter- tained to a turkey dinner by Reeve and Mrs. William Elston at their home on Wednesday even- ing December 17. Thomas Miller expressed the appreciation of those present and Robert Grosby presented them with a gift. A social evening and cards followed. Anybody Listening".
