Sunday was celebrated in Knox
United Church, Belgrave. Mem-
bers of the Sunday School assis-
ted in the service. A children's
choir rendered the anthem,
"Rocking."

There has been a lot of action in
the past two months.
The Kindergarten class is
getting ready for Christmas. They
decorated a real tree. They have
been practising for the school
concert which was December 16.
They are tasting Figgs and they
made up a song about them called
"We love our Figgy Pudding."
Grade 1-2 are sending letters to
the paper about Santa Claus.
They are practising for the
Christmas concert and they 'made
books on the Christmas story.
Grade 2-3 made Santa Clauses
and sent letters to the paper
about Santa Claus. They wrote
poems.
Grade 4-5 were getting ready
for the concert and sang Christ-
mas Carols. They are doing a play
called Christmas, "All Over the

The White Envelope contribu-
tions are to support a Foster child
in Bali, Indonesia, who was
adopted in 1974 by the school.

Grade 7 and 8 received a nice
letter from Mr. Hauley for trying
for the Huron Flag Contest.
The boys in grade 8 made a
bird feeder. Grade 8 made
candles - and helped the junior
grades for the Christmas concert.

stated that the plan began in
Spain, when a destitute father
pinned a note to his little son
asking that he be cared for by his

The offering for the occasion
was taken by Kelly Lougheed and
Joanne Coultes.
Christmas Meeting
The Christmas meeting of the
Afternoon Unit of the U.C.W. was
held in the church basement with
Mrs. Stewart Procter as leader.
The meeting opened by singing
hymn "It Came Upon the
Midnight Clear", after this Mrs.
Procter gave a short talk, that we
would think on the many who
would not be home for Christmas,
reminding us to let the birth of
Babe Jesus come einto home and
remember the true spirit of that
day. Mrs. Willard Armstrong
gave the Bible reading, telling the
story of the Shepherd. Hymn,
"Silent Night" • was sung. Differ-
ent members then lit candles,
reading short verses on the true
meaning of Christmas in homes,
churches and families in the
middle east:
Mrs. Cecil Coultes took the
study showing by' cards on the,
fannelgraph the meaning of the
gift of the Wise Men. Gold-today
might be the bouty with which we

The annual meeting of the
Belgrave, Blyth, and Brussels
School Fair on December 4 at
Belgrave: decided that September
15, 1976 will be the date for the
next fair.
- Mrs. Les Bolt conducted the
election of officers and directors
for the coming year. There was no
change in the officers, with all
being re-elected. The following
were elected to be new directors.

East Wawanosh township, How-
ard Martin for Brussels, Mrs.
Jack , l'.ou Iles, Mrs. Rev. Wittich
and Mrs. Mary Wightman for
Blyth. Those to, sell. advertising
remain unchanged with the
exception of Wingham where Bob
Taylor and Ross Higgins will
replace William Coultes and Jack
Higgins.
Mrs. John Gnay and Ross
Procter will head committee for
the revising of the prize list. Their
reports will be read at the
January meeting.

The Work and Play Club with
Mrs. Carl Hemingway president,
and Mrs. Gertie Bolger, treasurer
sponsored by the Senior Citizens,
started their craft classes with a
needlepoint course.
A variety of stit ches have been
taught by Mrs. Ruth Axtmann,
instructor.
