Bluevalc United Church was
decorated with pink and white
candelabra for the double-ring
ceremony uniting Deborah
Joanne Demaray and Harold
Joseph Scili on Saturday,
November 8 at seven o'clock.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and
Mrs. Max Demaray of R.71.2,
Bluevale and Mr. and
Mrs. Elwood Scili of Ethel.
Rev. Wilena Brown was the
officiating minister. The soloist.
Mrs. Anne Foster, cousin of the
bride, of Belmont, sang,
"Hawaiian Wedding Song" and
"With This Ring I Thee Wed".
She was accompanied by Mrs.
Carl -Johnston who provided
traditional organ music.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, chose an empire
A-line silhouette lagoda gown
With Venice lace trimming the
bodice, bishop sleeves and high
neckline. Shb wore a fingertip
French illusion veil with .Juliet
cap also trimmed with Venice
lace. A gold heart-shaped locket.

the gown. Her bridal flowers
were pink Sweetheart roses and
white carnations.

wedding vows at St. Andrews
Presbyterian Church, Wingham.
The church was decorated with
a lighted candelabra of white and
yellow mums for the seven o'clOck
service.

Miss Sandra Currie played the
organ and Miss Sandra Lee ,sang
"The Wedding" before the bridal
party entered the church. During
the ceremony Mrs. Mary Lee .
sang, - —Hie Lord's Prayer" and
during thesigning of the register,
a duet, "Walk Hand in Hand with
Me", was -sung.
Given in marriage by her father
and mother, the bride chose a
dress of traditional elegance. The
satin-backed chemise gown
featured 'a mandarin neckline, a
softly tucked bodice accented
with .guipure lace, and a camelot.
sleeve with the upper part in
small tucks matching.the bodice.
The A-Line skirt draped into a
full-length cathedral train with a
wide ruffle .adorning the entire
hemline. She chose a Juliet cap
which held in place a short hand
rolled silk illusion vekl.• She
carried a, bouquet of cascading
yellow sweetheart roses and
baby's breath.
Mrs. Glenn (.Julie); Ruttan of
LOndon, was matron of honor.
Mrs. Jon (Betty) Bateson, Mrs.
FAL (Karen) Blackwell, both of
Wingham and Mrs, hid( (Joanne)
McPherson of Kitchener were
'bridesmaids.
The girls all chose coral silk

The United Church Sunday
morning service of worship was
conducted by Rev. Wilena Brown.
I ler sermon title was "The
Beginning of What? and she

A candle was lit during the
,hildren's story to symbolize the
first Sunday of Advent. • ,

their jackets were hoods and the
wrists of the jackets had soft coral
maribou fur trim. Their
bouquets were made of white and
yellow cascading mums.
Master Jason Bateson, nephew
of the bride, acted as ring bearer.
Groomsman was Bruce
Corrigan, brother of the groom,
and guests were ushered by Jon
Bateson, brother of the bride,
Glenn Ruttan of London and
Norm McLennan of Waterloo,
friends of the groom. The father
or the bride and the groom and
his at tendants wore dark brown
windsor tuxedoes.
The bride's mother chose an
autumn rust rib knit sleeveless
gown. The long sleeved jacket
was accented with rows of dyed to
match seed pearls. , Gold
accessories and a corsage of white
Sweetheart roses completed h er
ensemble. "
The groom's mother chose 'a
long gown of peacock blue with an
elbow-length sheer cape and a
corsage of white Sweetheart
roses,
The guests were invited- to the
home. of "the bride's parents
between the wedding and the
reception which was held at the
Wingham Legion Hall where the
tables were decorated with flower
pots of coral coloured roses made
out of crepe paper by the bride.
For travelling the bride chose a
brown and beige at-the-knee
length skirt with a matching fitted
jacket. She. ' completed her
ensemble with a beige blouse,
brown scarf and brown
accessories with a corsage of
yellow Sweetheart roses.
Honored guests at the wedding
were the bride's special
Grandmothers, Mrs. 'Elizabeth
Fuller and Mrs. Stafford Bateson,
both ofWingham.
,late is a graduate of Fanshawe
College in Early Childhood
Education and has been
employed at the Wingham Day
Care Centre. Bob is also 'a
graduate of Fanshawe College
and is employed by A. M. Spriet
and Associates, Consulting
Engineers of London.
Mr. and Mrs. Corrigan will
reside at 80 Huxley Street, Apt.
301, London, Ontario.

Mrs. Graham Campbell was
hostess for the meeting of the
local Women's Institute which,
opened in the usual manner and a
poem by Mrs. Alex MacTavish.
Mrs. Jim Jim Armstrong, Mrs.
Ross Nicholson, Mrs. William de
Vos andMrs, Donald Street were
named a committee to plan the
ChristmaS concert.
Mrs. Alex MacTavish;
convener of the citizenship
committee, introduced the guest
speaker, Jack Fischer, clerk of
Turnberry Township, who spoke
on voting privile ges. A question
' and answer session followed.
Mrs.de Vos thanked Mr. Fischer
and presented him with an
Institute plate. •
Roll call was answered by "Do
you think everyone should have
the right to vote?"
Lunch was served by the
hostess, assisted by Mrs.Carl
Johnston, Mrs. J.C. Johnston and
Mrs. Allan Campbell.
Euchre club has
housewarmings
The Browntown euchre club
recently held two housewarming
parties.
On Wednesday, November 5,
they surprised Ross Smith who
has just moved from the second of
Morris into Blueiale. Mrs. Bert
Garniss read an address
expressing the best wishes of the
group to Ross and a welcome to
his sister and brother-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Orville Jones. Mary
Ellen Elston and Joanne. Edgar
presented Ross with the gift of a
swag lamp.
On Monday of last week, the
group called unexpectedly on the
newlyweds, Mr. and Mrg": Ed.
Stewart in their new Bluevale
home. Mrs. Stewart was the
former Marie Elston.
Mrs., Bert Hastings expressed
the club's congratulations and
Mrs. Irlma Edgar presented a
lamp to M-r. and Mrs. Stewart.
Fitting replies were made by Mr.
Smith and by Mr. and Mrs.
'Stewart. Progressive euchre was
enjoyed and refreshments were
served.
Area Weddings
Miss Sharon Bell, friend of the
bride. Their gowns were pink
importerd dotted polyester with
gathered bodices and short
puffed sleeves. The attendants
carried nosegays of white roses
and pink carnations.
Larry Jacobs,, friend of the
groom, was best man. Guests
were ushered by Larry Rock and
Rick Demaray, brother of the
bride. They wore royal blue
tuxedos with pink rose. bouton-
nieres.
A reception followed at the
Turnberry Tavern, W ingham.
The bride's mother received.
guests wearing a floor-length
,gown of blue polyester jersey
with • matching jacket. The
groom's mother wore a medium
blue floor-length gown of
polyester with decorative stitched
front panel. •
For a hOneymoon to ,Niagara
Falls, the bride chose a camel
pantsuit with brown accessories
and pink rose corsage. On their
return they will reside in
Listowel.
