DISCUSSSEWERS— A number-of ratepayers talked to Reeve Jack McCutcheon,
seated, after the meeting to organize protest against the proposed sewer system for
Brussels last week. A petition asking the village to do more investigation before
going ahead with sewers is being circulated in Brusiels this week. The OMB
hearing for objections to the sewers is scheduled for Tuesday in the library.

The residents had a special treat of band music on Sunday
afternoon when the Mississauga Salvation Army Band visited
the Home. and provided a concert in the auditorium. The
thirty' member band played several well-known sacred
numbers as well as solo and duet trumpet selections. The
band had entertained in the area dulling -the week:end and
arrangements for the'visit to the Home had been arranged by
the Goderich Citadel. Mrs. Betty Scratch expressed the
appreciation of the residents.
The Goderich Township Women's Institute volunteers
assisted with Monday's activities of old tyme music, dancing
and a sing-a-long. Molly Cox Mrs.Driver and. Norman Speir
provided the music and Dora . Heard entertained with a "
whistling solo.
Mrs. McCann of 'Clinton showed coloured slides and gave a
very interesting commentary at the "Family Night" program.
The pictures had been taken by Mr. ancr Mrs. McCann while
on a trip to the west coast and included several interesting
places such as Buschart Gardens, the ROckies and
Yellowstone Park. Students of. Mrs. Langdon of Clinton
provided the musical part of the program with piano solos by
Laurie Lavis and Lorrie Mann; a vocal duet by Anne Lavis and
Laureen Craig. Mary Van Camp thanked all those responsible
for the program on behalf of the residents.
The Dungannon Women's Institute were hosts for the
November birthday party. Mrs. Elmer Black, Vice President,
of the institute introdiked the emcee for the afternoon. Mrs.
Irwin. The program consisted of bagpipe selections, readings
and a sing-a-long of Christmas Carols led by a chorus of
twelve ladies. The twenty-seven celebrants were presented
with gifts and birthday cake and tea were served to one
hundred and fifty residents and guests: Mr. Ben King who
was celebrating his 80th birthday on Wednesday thanked the
ladies.
