play and Fullarton overpowered

FuIlailon with their victory won
the right to meet Arva in the final
game for the "A" Championship
here on Friday, August 22nd at

Slow pitch
team wipes
out Walton
The Brussels Ladies Slow Pitch
Ball team slaughtered their opp-
onents in two devestating games
last week.
At a game played in Rostock on
Wednesday night, in rain, • and on
a very muddy field, they scored
an 18-3 victory.
Nel Blake got a nasty shaking
up when a runner slid into base
knocking her down. The battery
for this game was Ruth Lowe
pitcher and Barb Watts, catcher.
In an exhibition game in
Walton on Thursday night the
Brussels ladies downed Walton
18.8, Pat. Langlois pitching with
Barb Watts behind the plate for
Brussels. Ann Ryan and Judy Lee
pitched for Walton with, Marie
McGavin catching.
Edith Pipe at first .base for
Brussels, suffered a painful injury
to her thumb in catching a ball.
The ladies say this was an
enjoyable fun game, with added
humor, when Barb Watts rolled
into home plate twice to score two
runs.
Brussels will play Rostock here
on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.
This will be the last game of the
series before the playoffs.
