Ross and Betty Knight of R.R.#2, Brussels are pleased to
announce the engagement of their eldest daughter, Nancy
Elizabeth to James Alan Walker, youngest son of Archie and
Gladys Walker of R.R.#5, Brussels. The wedding to take place
September 19, 1975 at 7:00 p.m. at the Brussels United Church.

couple mark 40th
anniversary
The family of Mr. and Mrs.
Carl Hemingway entertained
their parents with a dinner at the
Blue Barn, Listowel, in honouy of
their fortieth wedding anniver-
sary. Following the dinner their
family of four daughters and four
sons presented them with a 35
min. camera and electronic flash.
• The celebration continued at
Cranbrook Community Hall
where a large number of relatives
Mends and neighbours gathered
for a social evening. The winners
in progressive euchre were Karen
Hemingway, Jim Smith, Pat
Hemingway, Mrs. Ray Cox, Don
Hemingway and Keith Knight.

the platform and presented with

The Brussels Lawn Bowling
Club held their first mixed
Trebles Tournament on Wednes-
day evening July 30. Perfect
weather and fifty four bowlers
made it a success.
Visitors from Atwood, Tees-
water, Goderich, Blyth, Seaforth,
Mitchell, along with some of the
home club, produced some good
bowling.
A committee of lady bowlers
served lunch.

completed by the Brussels
Agricultural Society. In order to
qualify for prize money, each
competitor must exhibit a half
bushel of grain at the Brussels
Fall Fair, September 16, and 17.

Mrs. Hemingway thanked their,
friends for coming, their beautiful
gifts and reminisced on their
wedding day of July 27, 1935.
The Cranbrook Women's Inptit-
ute served a delicious lunch of
sandwiches, cake and ice cream,
after which the bride and groom
of forty years passed the 3-tier
anniversary cake which had been
made and decorated by their
daughter Mrs. Marion Godkin.
