Ladies slow
pitch game
exciting
Brussels fans were treated to
an exciting ball game here on
Wednesday night of last week
when the Girls Slow Pitch team
squeezed by Rolstock 11-10 after
trailing for six innings.
'Me Brussels Ladies were behind
10-3 in the sixth inning, but came
to life in the seventh with. Pat
Langlois pitching and Barb Watts
behind the plate. With runners
on first and second Edith Pipe hit
a single that brought both home
to win the •game for Brussels.
The pitcher, Pat Langlois was
hit on the arm receiving a severe
bruise and Elaine Nichol was cut
•just below an eye when hit by a
ball.
the next game will be in
Wellesley on Thursday of this
week.
Majorettes
win title
The Canadettes, a majorette
team from Wingham captured top
honors at the Ontario
Championships held in Agincourt
recently. They won the "Novice
Team" title.
Team members are Julie
MacDonald of Brussels, Susdn
Brown, Pam Cameron, Connie
Streich and Heather Streich all of
Wingham.
Team captain Julie MacDonald
was also entered in the solo
novice twirling class and placed
third in a class of fourteen.
Instructor and coach for the
girls is Mrs.' Patti Robertson of
Wingham.
Witnesses
meet in
Toronto
The Watchtower Bible and
Tract Society has revealed plans
for two district conventions of
Jehovah's Witnesses in Toronto
this summer.
J. Scaglioni, convention man-
ager, said the dual meetings are
scheduled for July 24-27 and July
31-August 3.
Scaglioni said sessions will be
held at the Woodbine Race Track.
Convention officials expect ap-
proximately 16,000 delegates at
each of the conventions.
The assemblies are among over
100 arranged for the United
States and Canada with a peak
attendance exceeding one million
persons anticipated,

Talent
show is
success
Judges at the third Sunday
Talent Show at Family Paradise
had great difficulty, picking • a
winner. The children were all
extremely ,good.
The final choice for first prize of
twenty dollars went to the T.-K.-
Steppers, Ted Elliott, Kim. Craig
tnd Karon Glousher of Blyth, and
Brussels stepped up a storm.
A young male soloist from
London, Eddie Harper, sang his
way to the ten dollar second prize.
The band "Four Of A Kind" from
Atwood entertained before and
after the talent show.
