On Saturday, May 10, 1975 the
marriage of Catherine Lynn
Cousins, daughter of Mr_ and
Mrs. C.L.Cousins and Wray
James Mulcahy, son of Mr. and
Mr. .H.J.Muicahy, all of London,
was solemnized in Gethsemane
United Church, London.
The bride looked radiant as she
entered the church on the arm of
her father. • The bride's gown,
designed by herself and sewn by
her mother, was made of double
bridal satin with Empire bodice -
full circular skirt and lily point
sleeves trimmed with miniature
pearls. Her fingertip veil was held
int place by a pearl petal
headpiece. Completing her
ensemble was a bouquet of
gardenias and red rose buds with
trailing. ivy.
Her attendants: Nancy
Cousins, London, Susan Hasson,
Oshawa, Donna Peters,
Markdale, Kathy Irliodan,
London, Brenda McNeil, London,
were dressed alike in apple red
satin gowns of the "big look"
with funnel collars and long
sleeves. Miss Jan Cousins was
her sister's flowergirl, dressed in
an A-line white satin gown with
apple red sash and matching
bow. She wore a "halo" of white
rosebuds entertwined with green
ivy in her hair. All bouquets were
similar to the brides.
The groomsmen: John
Pinheiro, Murray Cousins, , Toni
Moonen, Randy Cousins and
Frank Hlodan, all of London,
were attired in black "Windsor"
style. Tuxedos accented by white
shirts with black ruffles and bow
ties.
The reception was held at the
Paddock with the bride's mother
receiving the guests in a
champagne coloured gown made
of heavy crepe with matching hat
- purse and shoes. A peach
orchid corsage completed her
outfit. She was assisted by the
groom's mother who wore a floral
gown of polyester satin in reds
and blues with matching
accessories. She wore a red
rosebud corsage.
The fathers were attired in
black "Windsor" style tuxedos.
The couple honeymooned in
Florida and are now residing in
London.
Among the many relatives
attending were Mr. and Mrs.
R.B.Cousins, ,Brussels, Mrs.
J. Van Vliet, Walton, Mr. and
Mrs. S. Hkuska, London, all
grandparents of the bridal couple.
Huronview
The residents enjoyed an hour of piano melodies in the
Auditorium on Monday afternoon played by Mrs. Elsie
Henderson.
The Clinton Centennial Band led by Miss Legg played a
concert on the front lawn on Tuesday evening. The weather
was perfect for a band concert and most of the residents were
able to take advantage of the music. The band has thirty-five
members ranging in age from 10 to 18 and they have made
great progress during the past year under their new leader.
The "Over 90 Club" held a picnic on Wednesday aft ernoon
at Pinelake Camp. Twenty members of the Club travelling by
van and car had a tour of the Bayfield area and following a
tour of the camp had supper beside the lake.
The Walkerburn volunteers of Auburn assisted with
activities and we wish to thank Bob and Shirley Elliott for the

An enjoyable time was spent at
the Brussels United Cluirch on
Friday night July 4th when a
miscellaneous shower was given
in honour of Miks Karen
Hemingway, R.R.3, Brussels
/who is to be married to •Ron
Phillips of Stratford August 1st.
The Sunday School room was
tastefully decorated with pink and
white streamers and bells and
several baskets of delphinium,
Bermuda lilies and phox.
Karen was led to a decorated
seat of honour accompanied by
her mother Mrs. Carl
Hemingway, Ron's mother, Mrs.
Lloyd Phillips of Stratford, her
future matron of honour Mrs.
Doreen LeDrew of Oshawa and
bridesmaids Miss Sandra Phillipsi,
of Stratford and Miss Dianne
Godkin of Walton.
Dianne Th omas was in charge
of the guest book.
A short programme followed
consisting of "Get ACquainted
Game", an instrumental by Mary
Ellen Knight , a vocal duet by
Gail and Gloria White , a, reading
by Elsie Miller, a vocal duet by
Dianne and Nancy Godkin, and an
instrumental by Dianne Godkin.
Doreen LeDrew read an
address to Karen who was the
recipient of a large number of
useful and beautiful gifts. She
thanked the ladies for their gifts
and those responsible for
arranging the shower. Lunch was
served and best wishes were
extended to Karen for a fine
wedding day and many many
years of happy married life.
