bride, were bridesmaids. The
maid of honour, and the
bridesmaids were identically
gOwned in hot pink, accented with
white lace, on cuffs, and square
neckline. Complimenting the
ensemble were lacy pink picture
hats. They carried bOuquets of
white shasta daisies, and pink
rosebuds.
The groom was wearing tuxedo
, pleated shirt, black bow-tie
and pink rose boutonniere. Best
„man was Stephen Hall of London,
Doug Fryatt of London, and John
Hartshorn of Preston were ushers
They wore black tuxedos with
ruffled shirts, black bow ties, and
white boutonnieres.
Following the wedding a
banquet and reception were held
in Brussels Legion Hall, which
was decorated with pink and
white streamers and bells. Head
table was centered with a four-
tiered wedding cake, decorated
with pink roses. The guests were
received by the brides mother,
wearing a floor length blue
polyester gown and jacket en-
semble, with white corsage and
accessories. She was assisted by
the grooms' Another, wearing a
floor length mauve polyester
gown, with floral shawl, and
corsage of white. mums. The
guest of.honour at the wedding
was the brides' grand-mother,
Mrs. John Clark.
The bride is a graduate of St.
Joseph's School of Nursing,
London. The groom is a graduate
of Western University; 'London.
The young couple are residing
in Ottawa.
The Free Methodist Church,
Goderich, was the setting when
Margarett Dianne Rodges and
DAvid Charles Baan were united
in marriage on May 31st at 2:30.
The Rev. Ross Nicholls performed
the ceremony. Mr. Eric Campbell
played the wedding music and
Mrs. Iris Fillmore, the soloist,
sang "The Wedding Prayer",
"Abide With us" and "Bless this
Home".
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs.Leonard Rodges,
R.R.#2, Clinton, and the groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin
Baan, R.R.#3, Walton.
The bride given in marriage by
her parents, chose a gown of soft
knit jersey. The bodice featured a
scooped .neckline and empire
waistline trimmed with rosebud
lace. A 'flared skirt flowed to a
train trimmed with similar lace.
The Juliet cap held a finger-tip
veil trimmed with lace matching
the dress. She carried a cascade

septic tank system.
The meeting hall was started
last fall, with the shell being built
by contract, but with Most of the
fixing up and panelling being
done by volunteer labor:
Under this agreement, council
Will-not be responsible for any
further maintenance costs, until
the sewers are connected.
Council also agreed to support
the Association of Municipalities
of Ontario's resolution, which
opposes the proposed 30 per cent
tate increase for Ontario Hydro.
Building permits were granted
to Jack Ricci to put in the last
trailer in the village's trailer park,
the Brussels' Agricultural
Society, to re roof one Side of
their building, Bev. Cardiff for
remodelling their veranda and
Thomas &radian for re-shingling
his roof.
A letter was sent to the
Wingham Provincial Police to
increase their patrol of the village

ROSS, - VEENSTRA
Knox Presbyterian Church,
Bluevale, was decorated with
lighted tapers in candelabra
surrounded by yellow and white
daisies and blue cornflowers
when Rev. Robt, H. Armstrong
united in =triage Bonnie Veen-
stra and William John Ross, both
of Wingham, on friday, June 6,
at 7:30. Parents of the couple are
Mr. and Mrs. Joost Veenstra of
Clinton, and Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Ross of Wingham.
Mrs. Ross Hoggart, organist,
provided traditional and contem-
porary wedding music and
accompanied Mr s Ruth. Town-
send and Mr.s Grace Campbell as
they sang "Walk Hand in Hand"
and the Hawaiian Wedding'Song.
Given in marriage by'her father
the bride wore a gown of sheer
organza over silk. Daisies trim-
med the long sheer sleeves and
high ruffled neckline and extend-
ed in a V to the waistline which
extended into an attached train.
A wide ruffle added hemline
interest. A Juliet cap held her
elbow-length veil also trimmed
with daisies and she carried a
bouquet of red roses, pink
carnations, green rivy and baby's
breath.
Mrs. Greta de Vos of Bluevale
was matron of honour. She was
becomingly attired in a gown of
light blue crepe with empire
waistline, full skirt and bell
sleeves trimmed with a large
ruffle on the bottom. She wore a
white wide-brimmed hat trimmed
with blue daisies and carried a
bouquet of pink carnations,
yellow and whip daisies and blue
cornflowers.
Brian McBurney of Wingham
was groomsman and guests were
ushered by Barry Hogg of Gornie
and Donald Ross of Wingham.
Guests from Holyrood, Clinton,
Kincardine, Cockrane, London,
Toronto, Stratford, Sarnia and the .
Wingham and Bluevale area were
received at a reception which
followed in the Wingham Legion
Hall,
The brides' mother wore a
floral rose coat over a floor length
princess dress. Her corsage was
ye flow roses. The grooms'
mother chose a mint green
princess styled floor length dress
with a corsage of yellow roses.
For travelling in Northern
Ontario the bride wore a bone
coloured pantsuit with red acces:
sores and a corsage of red roses.
On their return, they took, up
residence at R. R. # 1, Bluevale.
HOnoured guests at the wed-
ding were the groom's grand-
parents, who will celebrate their
60th wedding anniversary later
this year..

sister of the bride was the maid of
honour. She wore a yellow gown
styled similarly to the brides-
maids with a flare skirt, a U-neck-
line and short sleeves. The
bridesmaids provided a pretty
background in rainbow colours of
pink" and blue. They • were Miss
Janet Rodges, I,,ondon, sister of
the bride andMiss Marie
Ferguson, Goderich, cousin of the
bride. Each carried a bouquet of
white shasta daisies with
miniature carnations in their
colour.
Mr. Norman Sparling, Forest,
friend of the groom was the best
man. Ushers were Mr. D.avid
"Rodges, brother of the bride and
Mr. Alvin Klassen, Delhi.
The reception followed in the
Little Inn, Bayfield.
The bride's mother greeted the
guests in a long gown of shades of
pink and orange flowers. The
groom's mother chose a gown of
pastel blue.
The new couple now reside on
the groom's farm at R.R.#3,
Walton.
