have missed seeing this famous
show, and those who wish to see
its new version may obtain

The' Blyth Summer Festival is
proud to have its first season in
Blyth Memorial Hall, which has
been described as a fine example
of early Canadian Theatre
architecture. The Hall which
'flourished during the days of
vaudeville and community
musicals, and then, for twenty
years was neglected and finally
condemned. Far sighted citizens
of Blyth, who recognized its merit
both as a building and a war
memorial, undertook the
restoration of the Hall. Part of
this work was aided by the inter
Works Capital Programme,
jointly sponsored by The Federal
and Provincial governments, and
a grant from the Community
Centres Act. Although more work

The Blyth Summer Fes lival
will, open on Wednesday, July 9 at
8:3Q p.m. with "Mostly in
Clover" adapted from the works
of Harry, J.Boyle by Steven
Thorne and James Roy.
The opening will also be the
occasion of the rededication of the
newly renovated Blyth Memorial
Hall.. The Royal Canadian Legion
will honour the rededication with
a full dress parade, The Reeve of
the Village of Blyth will also
participate and the Federal and
Provincial members , of
Parliament, Mr. Robert McKinley
and Mr. Murray-Gaunt have been
invited to attend.
Mr. Harry J. Boyle, the author
of "Mostly In Clover" "With a
Pinch of Sin" and "Homebrew
and Patches", froin which The
Blyth Summer Festival's
production is adapted, has been
invited to attend the
performance. Mr. Boyle, now
Vice-Chairman of the Canadian
Radio and Television
Commission, was born in St.
Augustine about six miles from
Blyth. Blyth, Auburn, Wingham
and Goderich all play a part in the
episodes from his boyhood on
which the Festival Production is
based. Mr.lBoyle's memories of
growing up in Huron County are
`filled with good people and good
times. This play will be fine
family entertainm ent of life's
joys and sorrows, with songs and
music composed especially for the
show.
Agatha Christie's popular
mystery thriller opening Friday,
July 11, is also family fare. This
chilling tale. of murder and
intrigue unfolds in a manner that
will keep everyone guessing until
the very last exciting moment.
T .he ,Fa..xin Show will be
presented at Blyth Memorial Hall
on Sunday, July 13 at. 2 p.m. -
Theatre Passe Muraille is
returning to this area to give a
special Matinee Benefit
performance for the Blyth
Summer Festival as part of their
season. New material has been
added and some new performers
have joined the 'show, which was
created about the farmers of this
region and first performed in a
barn near Clinton. Since then,

Obituary
MRS. ANNA BESHRY
Mrs. Anna Beshey of
Pasadena, California passed away
on Friday, June 27th in her 96th
year.
The former Anna Hunter,
widow of the late Edward Beshey
was born in Cranbrook, the eldest
daughter of the late John and
Louisa. Hunter. She is survived by
her daughter Mrs. Herman
(Jennie) Satre of Stanhope, Iowa.
Also three sisters Mrs. Jas (Etna)
McCallum of St. Th omas, Mrs.
Chester. (Mae) Baker of , Listowel
and Mrs. Lylle (Ida ) Gordon of
Cranbrook. Her son Harold, - one
sister and seven brothers
predeceased.
Funeral service was held
Tuesday, July 1st from the
Foster Funeral Home and burial
in Webster City, Iowa where
Mrs.Beshey resided for many
years.
