Flood Plain Committee met last Wednesday and decided to submit a brief to the Ministry of the environment. Charlie Thomas, chairman of the committee said a date hasn't been set for a meeting with the ministry. He said the committee has contacted Murray Gaunt, MPP for the area, to help present the brief. A public meeting was held several weeks ago at the Legion- which 60 citizens attended. The committee was established to fight the flood plain mapping. study done by_the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority. If the flood plain map is approved by the cabinet, then the Conservation Authority will be able to control development on the flood plain which includes a large_ portion of the village of Brussels. (Photo by Langlois) Gary Davidson, the County planner, told council Monday night that Brussels' industrial area is too small and its commercial area too large.
