STEP DANCING UP A STORM -- Brussels area pupils of Mrs. Gail Glanville had a
recital for parents and interested guests in Blyth Memorial Hall- Friday night.

canoeists and canoes. The
paddlers with their expertise and
the canoes with crafttnanship.
Greg and Ted Cowan continued
their skillful handling of a canoe
to come in first in the Open Class
at the Bully Gully canoe race on
Saturday,
Rene Boogermans and Ken
Farrell of Hensall placed second
and Bob, Wizzenc and Ian
McMillen third in the same class.
All gained their victories in
canoes made by the Cowans.

The local Atom "A" Champs
participated in the W.O.A.A.
Tournament of Champions on the
weekend in Arthur. The teams
represented were Goderich "A"
Division, Kincardine "B"
Clinton "C", Palmerston `DD"
Brussels "D" and Blyth "E".
The Brussels team played their
first game Saturday morning at
9:00 A.M. against Blyth. They
defeated Blyth 6 - 2. Scoring for
Brussels was Todd Wheeler 2
goals; Terry McCutcheon 2;
Kevin Deitner 2. Assists went to
Todd Wheeler 2, Steve Knight 3,
Kevin Dietner, Larry
McCutcheon, Murray-Pipe (One
each)
The second game at 1:00 P.M.
was played against Goderich. The
home team was defeated 7 - 1.
The only goal was scored by Steve
Knight with assists going to Brad
Wright and Stewart Cardiff.
The third game was played at
3;15 against our rivals from
Palmerston. After a very good
game of hockey the score read
Brussels 5 and Palmerston 3.
Scoring for Brussels was Todd
Wheeler 3 goals, Terry
McCutcheon 1, Steve Knight 1,
Assists went to Kevin Deitner 4,
Steve Knight, 2.
Each team was allowed two
losses before being eliminated.
Brussels returned to A rthur on
Sunday for their fourth game.
They played against Kincardine
with the final score reading

local boys scoring 4 quick goals in
the first period. Brussels came
back in the second period scoring
3 goals. Each team scored 1 goal
each early in 'the third with
Brussels almost tieing the score a
number of times. Kincardine
scored this sixth goal in the last
minute of the game. Kincardine
then went on to play Goderich
who were • undefeated in the
tournament. Goderich defeated
Kincardine 8 - 4 to take the Grand
Championship.
