Trustee Looby said Mr. Lane
should be congratulated on such a
good financial statement. "It's
too bad it didn't give dividends",
he said.

accumulated underlevy since
1969.
The financial statement showed
an actual revenue of $2,900,0005,
$42,951 under the budgeted
figure for 1974. Actual
expenditure per pupil was
$694.75 and the board was under
provincial Ministry of Education
ceilings by $69,325.
Dublin trustee Joe Looby said
he thought the financial
statement should be printed in
local newspapers and questioned
the present policy of handing
copies of the statement out
through the schools and
chtirches. "A lot of people don't
get them."
Mr. Lane said it would be quite
expensive to advertise in all the
papers in the two counties.
Trustee Michael Connolly
suggested mailing a copy of the
statement to every ratepayer. The
board decided to look into
alternative forms of distribution.
Many young people at present
are trying to make arrangements

programme, I thought I would
include it in my weekly report,
Most students will want to apply
for programmes operating in their
own area because they would
prefer to be within commuting
distance of their homes..
I will list some of the
programmes which I think may be
of particular interest to students
in Huron-Bruce.
1. Ministry of Attorney General
- community work for young
people in connection with
provincial courts (family
division.)
2. Ministry of Colleges and
Universities - young people can
work in art galleries, museums,
regional libraries throughout the
Province.
There are also interest-free
loans available to young people
up to a maximum of $1,000 per
venture to own, or operate, their
Minister of Education Thomas
Wells' announcement that the
expenditure ceiling per
elementary school pupil would be
raised $5 0 in 1975 came in for some
comment at the Huron Perth
Roman Catholic School Board's
meeting in Seaforth Monday
night.
Goderich trustee Vince Young
said in his opinion Wells was
getting' "a lot of print but not
saying much", because although
the ceiling per pupil was up, most
boards face a declining
enrolment. Bdsiness
Administrator Jack Lane said the
per pupil allotment was based on
the average daily enrolnient is
calculated three times a year.
Mr. Young said
announcements like Wells' make
negotiations harder because
people think "We're getting a lot
more money." Mr. Lane
commented that the board still
doesn't know if the province will
increase their . grant share
proportionate to the ceiling
increase.
"He (Wells) is looking for votes
and it looks good", was Mr.
Young!s comment.
The 1975 budget cannot be
drawn up until budget regulations
come from the Ministry Mr. Lane
said, and they cannot be expected
until some time in April.
The board's building and
property committee was voted a
second allotment of $10,000 for
own summer buSiness.
3. Ministry of Community and
Social Services - opportunities to
work with municipal recreation
departments in developing
leisure opportunities for the
disabled and handicapped.
4. Ministry of Correctional
Services.
5. Ministry of Education,
6. Ministry of Health,
7. Ministry of Housing,
8. Ministry of Industry " and
Tourism. All these 'ministries
have job possibilities for post
secondary students.
9. Ministry of the Environment,
and
10. Ministry of Natural
Resources have opportunities
throughout the Province for
manual, technical, and clerical
positions.
The applications should be
submitted no later than. April 1st,
1975 for all post secondary
students, .and by May 1st, 1975
for all secondary students.
