A GOOD FEED — Hot dogs and chocolate milk were
the order of the day for the many young hockey
players who were in Brussels over the weekend for
the Optimists A tournament. More hockey will be
played this weekend as the tournament continues.

HARD FOUGHT GAME — Small fry Brussels players get a.shot on goal in a game
vs Milverton at the start of the Optimists Atom hockey tournament on Sunday at the
local arena. The locals defeated Milverton. Boys from all over Ontario and some
from Michigan have been playing hockey this weekend and next.

Tournament on the weekend saw
Merriton win the "A"
Championship and South London
the „A ,, Consolation
Championship. Merriton won the
"A” Championship by defeating
Garden City 8 to 3 in their first
game, edging by Listowel 3 to 1 in
the semi final game and beating
Goderich 4 to 2 in the final. Don
Gillingham from Merriton was
chosen the Most Valuable Player
in the "A" division. Merritott
next weekend will play the "C"
Championship winner on Sunday
at 1:00 in the Grand Champion-
ship Semifinal. In reaching the
"A" finals Goderich slipped by
South London 4 to 2 and then
defeated akville 5 to 1 in their
semi final game,
After losing their first game to
Goderich, South London won
their next two gatnes by identical
3 to 2 scores in overtime. In their
semi final game a goal after two
minutes and 46 seconds of
overtime gave them the victory
over Richmond Hill. In the
Consolation Championship game
a goal With just 86 second played
in overtime made south London
victorious over Garden City.
Garden City reached the final by
defeating Kitchener 8 to 1
This weekend's action supplied
exciting and entertaining hockey, With the "C" Championship on
Friday night, the "13'' and "AAAlv action dothing up on.
