numbers which she had taped and
Mrs, Leona Connelly gave the
motto "A wise mind grows like a
savings account — put a little into
it every day " and stressed we
should be creative and keep
learning. This was followed by a
comic reading by Donna Knight.
Mrs, J can Docken, Walton,
discussed "Think Metric" and
explained the system and
demonstrated with metric sticks,
tapes, scales and liquid measure.
The roll call was answered with
waist measure in centimetres by a
good attendance.

Residents see
"Up Canada"
Representatives of the Christian Women's Club, Mr. and'
Mrs. Lut her, Hensall, provided an Easter Song Service in the
Chapel on Sunday evening.
Students of the Huron Centennial School present ed their
spring program entitled "Up Canada" on Monday afternoon.
Two hundred and thirty Grade 3 - 4 - 5 pupils took part in the
program with songs, scenery and costumes representing each
of the provinces. Mr. Mathers, Principal. of theSchool, was
emcee with Mrs. LeBeau directing the musical numbers and
the choir of sixty voices. Stage directors for the performances
were Mrs. Alexander, Miss B elnnewies, Mrs. Hunter-Duvar,
Miss Basarro, Mrs. Stewart, Mrs. Carter, Mr. Brand, Mr.
Walker, Mr.Straw, Mr. Laze, Mrs. Jane MacGregor, who is a
great grandmother of one of the students thanked the
entertainers on behalf of the residents for the afternoons
program which everyone enjoyed very much.
The Over 90 Club met on Wednesday afternoon with 22
members present. A guest of the club for the aft ernoon,
Mrs.Elsie Henderson, played several piano selections and
accompanied Walt er Kingswell with mouth organ numbers..
Mrs. Lamb and Mrs. McGratton each gave a reading and the
Walkerburn Club and Mrs. Kay Hanly who were volunteers
for the afternoon led a sing song. Tea and cookies were served
in the first floor dining room provided by the kitchen staff.
An evening of Irish dancing and music was the theme for
"Family Night". The program was arranged by Mrs. Lyle
Storey of Seaforth with Eugene Bradley as emcee for the
evening. Taking Ott in the program were the McQuaid
Family of Seaforth, The Bradley Family of Clinton, two
groups of step da\ncetsfrom Mitchell the "Winsome Four"
and the "Trio Steppers". Nelson Howe .of Staffaand Mrs.
Henderson played the accompaniment and Mrs. Ley;ourne,
who has the honour of being the only resident who was born
in Ireland , expressed the appreciation of the residents and
guest gor the evenings entertainment.

The March meeting of Melville
W.M.S. was held in the church
parlour with eleven members
answering the roll call with an
Easter verse. Mrs. Mair the
president opened the meeting
with a poem pertaining to Easter.
The hymn of the W.M.S. Motto
was' sung. The minutes of the
previous meeting were read by
the secretary, Mrs. Alex Steiss
and the financial report by the
treasurer, Mrs. Amy Speir. Mrs.
Mair took over the business and
correspondence.
invitations from Belgrave and
Walton were read inviting the
group to join their groups in
April. Mrs. Matheson and Mrs.
Speir were thanked for helping
with the program for the World
Day of Prayer.
There were thirty-one visits to
sick and shut-ins. The offering
was taken by Mrs. Speir and
dedicated by Mrs. Mair.
The Scripture from Acts 3,
verses 1-16 were read in unison
and Mrs. King gave the medita-
tion. Prayer was offered by Mrs.
Steiss. A letter was read from
Edna Brubacher, a missionary in
Zuru, Nigeria, by Mrs. Steiss.
The Easter topic on "The
Family that Prepares for Ester"
was given by Mrs. Matheson.
Hymn 209, "Beneath the Cross of
Jesus" was sung with Mrs. King
at the' piano. The meeting closed
by all repeating the benediction.

of the Church was held Sunday,
March 16th. There were .12

The hymn "Jesus Loves Me"
was sung to open the meeting.

The younger children made
Easter rabbits and the older
children worked on their Centen-
nial Birthday Cake. -
