Woodworking Elective
Out in the portable, on day 6, I
journeyed out looking for
something to report on. As I stood
in the pouring rain I to3sed about
in my head many questions. Soon
I was in and scrounging,
disturbing everyone with my
shouted questions. In a fit of
frustration, Mr. Carter said,
"Here put some of this in your
report". And plop! My entire
right hand, book, and pen were
buried in a pile of sawdust!
Unfortunately, I can't let you
have a sample of their labours so I
will tell you about it.They make
an assortment of items like a six
foot by three foot bookshelf,
gunrack,, keyholder, cassette
holder, stool. and many other
items. For those people who
forget their wood they can work
on a large quilt. Unfortunately,
they all have to clean up their own
mess! Michael Disley

Report Cards
Lately the pupils of Howick
Central have noticed a lot of
tests. There is a good explanation
for the tests which is "Report
Cards". On March 7th all the
pupils will receive their own 2nd
term report. I hope that your son
or daughter, or yourself are
pleased with their report. Some of
the pupils will be well pleased
while others will notFor those who
are not, let's study a little more
and see if we can be pleased the
3rd and final term this year.

Books on nutrition are
becoming increasingly popular,
but before buying or borrowing
such a book, food specialists at
the Ontario Food Council, Minis-
try of Agriculture and Food
advise you to take a minute to
check its creditability.
Checking up on a particular
book is easy if you use the
"Selected List of Reliable and
'Unreliable Nutrition
References". This wise invest-
ment for readers, which has
recently been ,expanded to
include publications up to 1975,
has been compiled as an edcuca-
tional service by the Toronto
Nutrition Committee i a volunteer
group of dietitians, nutritionists
and home economists employed
by government, hospital, univer-
sity and commercial agencies.
Most libraries have copies of
the original list and its new
supplement. If they are riot
available at your total library;
