Toro goalie
gets Bluevale -
painting
According - to the Western
Ontario Athletic Association
newsletter an interesting thing
happened at the Toro Game in
Toronto Nov. 13th.
In the pre.-game ceremonies,
the red carpet was rolled out and
Father Batter called Goalie Gerry
Cheevers to centre ice to present
to.him a gift from one of the banks
for his outstanding pet-font-lance
in the Team Canada. '74 Series
with the Russians.
Gerry Cheevers was presented
with an original painting done by
a famous artist from the
Maritimes who had travelled
across Canada and painted
buildings with a special touch of
"Canadianna".
The painting being presented
to Gerry Cheevers by Father
Bauer is an original painting of
the' Bluevale Mill, situated 5
miles from Witighatit.
The burglary occured on
Thursday night, or in the early
morning hours Of Friday, as was
the case in December and
January.
Herbert Strotton, a member of
the executive or the Medical-
Dental Centre, told the Post that
approximately $ 50.555 was taken
from the office of Drs. McGregor
and Hanlon. A fairly large
quantity of drugs (pills) were also
taken.
Entry to the building was
gained by removing a. 6" square
of glass from a rear window,
reaching in and unlocking a door.
The thieves picked two locks and
completely ruined a door in order
to reach the drugs. Other doors
You never know what will turn
up if you are doing renovating in
an old residence. Recently Mr.
and Mrs. Karl Kobesch found a
postal card, behind a wainscoting
in their home. The card,
addressed to Mrs: Edward Nichol
was dated 1806. The most
amazing thing about it 'was that
the writing was clearly legible.
The ink .had scarcely faded at all.

Thieves pay visit to
medical centre here
Skiing has become a favoured
pastime by a number of people in
the community. Some of them
are accomplished devotees of the
sport while others are just taking
up the sport. On a recent
weekend George Langlois,
Murray Cardiff, Kevin Cardif and
Doug Lowe were on a ski trip to
Mount Saint-Anne, Quebec.
Other young skiers, Carol Ray-
mond, Susan Langlois, Peggy
Gibson, Joan Moir, Joan Huether
and Laurie Moore accompanied
the Wingham District High
School Ski Club for two days of
skiing at Moon Stone.

Milk is said to be our most
healthful food. As of now it is
going to cost us more. The price
went up three cents a quart in
London On Monday of this week.
It has been announced that there
will be _an additional three cents a
quart hike in price by April.
Dairymen blame the increase on
the reinoval of the subsidy by the
government. Other dairy pro-
ducts Will be similarly affected.
