Winning AtomA's get another trophy
The Atom "A" team travelled
to Southampton to participate in
the Optimist Atom Tournament
there. Their first game found
them playing. Arthur whom they
defeated 7 - 0. Goal scorers were
Todd Wheeler 3, Terry
McCutcheon 2, Steve Knight 1,
Brad Wright 1. Assists went to
Kevin Deitner, Stewart Cardiff,
Danny Achilles, Robbie Cardiff,
Peter Bennett, Terry
McCutcheon, Todd Wheeler.
The second game brought them
up against the Ripley squad
whom they also defeated 7 - 0.
Goal scorers were Terry
McCutcheon 2, Todd Wheeler 2,
Kevin Deitner 2,' Brad Wright
Assists went to Kevin Wheeler,
Steven Knight, Doug McArter,
Peter Bennett, Terry
McCutcheon, Todd Wheeler and
Kevin Deitner.
The championship game' found
them playing the home town of
Southampton who had never been
defeated this year. The final score
read Brussels 6, Southampton 1.
Scoring for Brussels was Terry
McCutcheon 3, Todd Wheeler 3.

Doug McArter, Danny Achilles,
Brian Wheeler, Terry

Honourable mention goes tO•
Terry McCutcheon for picking up
the Most Valuable Player of the
'Tournament' Trophy. A special
thank you goes to the local
Optimist Club who sponsored our
team in the Tournament.
In other hockey news the same
team travelled to Milverton on
Tuesday evening and picked up a
4-2 win: The goal scorers` were
Brad Wright, Kevin Deaner,
Doug. McArter and Todd
Wheeler. Assists went to Brian
Wheeler and Kevin Deitner.
On Wediie§day evening' they
hosted the Teeswater' teani
they defeated quite handily 14-0.

In Bantam action on
Wednesday night Mildmay came
to town and after a very close
game defeated the local boys 11 -
10. Brussels scorers were Dave
Watts 4, Scott Wheeler 3, Doug
Cousins 1, Brad Knight 1, Brian
Deitner 1. Assists went to Brian
Scott, Tim Prior, Robby Demaray,
Brad Knight, Scott Wheeler,
Dave Watts.
The same team returned to
Mildmay on Thursday evening to
be defeated soundly 23 - 5. The
goal scorers were Scott Wheeler
2, Doug Cousins 1, Brian Scott 1,
Tim Prior 1. One assist went to
Brian Scott.
On Friday evening the Pee Wee
"A" team were host to Lucknow.
In a closely played contest the
game was a 4-4 tie with 25
seconds remaining. Lucknow
scored the winning goal. Scoring
for Brussels was Brian Tenpas 2,
Ken Higgins 1, Terry
McCutcheon. Assists went to Ken
C usins, Mike Watson, Lyle
Campbell, Leslie Williams:
The same team returned to
Lucknow on Saturday afternoon to
be defeated again 4 - 1. Ken
Cousins scored Brussels only
goal.
On Wednesday evening the
Midget team travelled to
Mildmay to be defeated 12 - 1.
Scott Bridge scored the only goal
assisted by Jerry Olechowski and
Danny White.
On Friday evening they hosted
the Howick team. At one point in
the third period they were being
defeated 8 - 4 until they rallied
back with 3 great goals and all but
tied it up in the dying seconds of
the game. Just a great game to
watch. Brussels scorers , were
Murray Nichol 2, Bob Bridge 1,
Jerry Olechowski 1, Danny White
1, Randy White 1, Murray
Ducharme 1. Assists went to Bill
King, Murray Ducharme, Jamie
Jutzi, Murray Wheeler, Danny

The Novice team played one
game last week with Blyth on
Saturday evening. They defeated
the visitors 3 - .1. Scoring for
Brussels was David Cossitt 2
goals, Doug Shaw 1. Assists went
to Gary Godkin 3, Doug Shaw 2,
David Cossitt 1.
