Dave Hastings Jr. was appointed fire chief for the Village of Brussels at the Council meeting Monday night. The appointment is effective immediately. A council committee will' look into an addition to the Fire Hall. The secondary plan for the village, discussed two weeks ago at a public meeting, was adopted. No changes were required in the Plan as no complaints had been received since the meeting, councillors said. Mrs. J. King will be hired to keep the village office' open while Clerk Bill King is on holidays, from Nov. 12 until Nov. 15, council decided. In other business -the council requested additional subsidies for roads and bridges. Council heard that the Mary Coffee Home Rehabilitation Centre of London are interested in 'Ideating in the village. Council will get more' information on the Matter, They will also look into the closing of right of ways to roads, laneways and alleys in the village.
