Brussels. Council had a look 'at
preliminary plans for the new
Senior CitiZen's apartments for
the village,. at their meeting last
Tuesday night. Construction of
the 34 .unit building, ,to be. shared
with senior citizens from Morris
and Grey should start within a
month, council heard.
Gordon Hickory of the Ontario
Housing Corporation in Toronto.
showed Councillors an architect's
drawing of the mew building. He
said that Taro Properties of St.
Catherines have been given the
contract for the construction job.
Brussels will again rent a truck
and snowplow to keep the village
streets clean this winter. Glenn
McKercher will, supply the
'vehicle, with current licence
plates and complete insurance
coverage for $350 per • month.
Village employees will drive the
plow. •
The agreement with Mr.
McKercher becomes effective,
December. 1 and runs until the
end of March, 1975. Village Clerk
Bill King said the rental
arrangement has worked well for
several years:
-Building permits were granted
to-George Thornton for siding on
a house; Ken Tyerman: house
extension; Wm. Rathwell, sign;
Brussels Royal Canadian Legion,
entrance; and Lawrence Jacklin,
siding on a house.' A demolition
permit . was granted to Alex
