An eleven year old boy, Russell
Miners, of Hickson, who is
holidaying with Mrs. J. Raynard
of R.R.2, Bluevale, caught a 21/2
lb. 17 inch Black Bass in the
Maitland. River.
Mr, and Mrs. Allan Frain and
daughters, Cynthia, Linda and
Sharon, Cabri, Sask. visited with
their uncle, Lew Frain, for a few
days last week. They were en
route to Chesterville,Quebec, to
visit relatives of Allan Frain's
mother,
George McNair of Hamilton
was a Sunday visitor with Mr. and
Mrs. W. 3. Perrie,
Barry Watson of Oracle,
Arizona, has joined his wife and
family who have been holidaying
in this ay.-A for several weeks.
Mrs, Ray Bronson of Oakville
and her daughter Marni of
Kitchener, visited With Brussels
friends on Thursday of last week.
Mrs. Annie Gemmil is a patient
in Wingham and District
Hospital.
Mrs. J. W. Fischer, who has
been a patient in Listowel Hos-
pital for several months returned
to her home here last week.
Two carloads from Brussels
attended the Senior Citizens Zone
Picnic in Stratford and reported
an interesting afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Roland ,meson,
Rosemary, Timmy and Randy of
Wheatley spent last weekend
with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Higgins,
Ken and Debra. They also visited
• with Mr. and Mrs. Elvie Higgins
on Saturday evening.
Cpt. and Mrs. David Krauter
and son Blair of Quebec are
vacationing with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Cal Krauter before
leaving for England where Cap-
tain Krauter will be stationed at
Larkhill.

on Maitland
A group of seven grade ten and
eleven students, under the
leadership of Warren Howard of
Listowel, are working to complete
a forestry and wildlife inventory
along the Maitland River this
summer.
The group is being hosted by
`the Maitland Valley Conservation
Authority, and is doing the
' project through the Junior Cons-
ervationist Program sponsored by
the Conservation Authorities
Branch of the Ministry of Natural
Resources.
The Junior Conservationist
Program is being conducted in
five centres across the province
this year, to give the young
people involved an understanding
and appreciation of their
environment through practical
experiences in conservation
education.
The Maitland Watershed study
began July 8, and is being conduc
ted by Brian Crone of Mis-
sissauga, Stephen Hitehcox of
Oakville, Stephen ‘Morden of
Mississauga, Bruce MaeKaye ol
-Sault Ste. Marie, Robert Plantt of
Glencoe, Brian Paul of Guelph,
and Arnold Stirajs of Ottawa.
Also active in one of the other
projects is Jeffrey Carson, a
student of Listowel District See-
onclary School.-
