Somebody, somewhere,

The original plan had been that

ever arrived in Blyth. Numerous
hone calls failed to produce the

A large percentage of our

Here we go again! Hydro rates

Of this year. Due to the increase in

increase local rates. By all the

COOLING OFF High temperatures forced these youngsters to look for a cooler
place to play. They found it last week at the Lions wading pool in Brussels.

Progress is being made on both
the Senior Citizens Apartments
and Liquor Control Board outlet
for Bruskls,' ReeVe Jack
McCutcheon told the Post. Both
buildings were announced by Eric
Winkler in February.
A downtown site has
. tentatively been chosen for the
liquor store the Reeve said and
more details will be available
after the deal is closed.
Many small details concerning
the Senior Citizens apartments to
be built on the corner of John and
Mary Streets have been worked
out between the Ontario Housing
Corporation and the village the
reeve said, including the
purchase by OHC of some
neighbouring property for a tile
bed.
Forty-three members of the
Senior Friendship Club enjoyed a
bus trip to Niagara Falls on
Wednesday, July 10th. To
compensate foe early rising (the
bus left at 7 a.m.) the travellers
were treated to .a drive on
uncrowded highways, through
the lush green farming lands of
this choice section of Ontario,
then through the peach orchards
' and vineyards of the Niagara
Peninsula.
Stopping at Queenston for
lunch. there was time to visit
nrockl,s Mdnuiii t a nd the
memorial to Laura Secord and to
admire the beautiful flower
gardens.
Then a pleasant drive along the
river to Niagara Falls and a
breath taking view of the mighty
Falls, followed by a trip to
Marineland and the two-hour
program of acts by the trained
seals and a killer whale. Many
acres of land. are taken up by the
Animal Farm where buffalo,
lions, deer and other animals and
birds are viewed by thousands of
people daily.
On the trip home the group had
dinner at the 'Rendezvous' a
restaurant outside Hamilton
where a short business meeting
was held. A short stop was made
at the Hamilton Botanical
Gardens with a chance to wander
through the lovely flower
arrangements.
A hearty vote of thanks was
made by Miss Mae Skelton to
President Eleanor Hemingway for
her fine planning of the days
activities. All agreed that they
had had 'a fine day.'
